Is this as good as using Mylar for winter cat shelters?

I was looking at it as an insert for a polyester fleece bed for outdoor stray cats. I stuff it with plastic grocery sacks above and below the mylar(?) thermal bubble wrap. Is there another way, like lining the pet house? I had never thought of that.

I want to glue this product to the black roof of my 93 camaro. then i want to glue the headliner to the bottom of the insulation. will it work?
