Best noise cancelation on the planet. Perfect business headset.
Best business headset I have used. I am a hardcore bluetooth wearer because I have carpal tunnel in both wrists and my hands go numb if I hold a cell phone for any period of time. I am also on the phone for business many hours a day. I can vouch for the battery life being about 5-6 hours continous run time because I bought two and regular use them both daily. I have used headsets for years and have been a big Plantronics fan have used the Voyager, Voyager Pro and several Edge versions. I have also tried the Jabra options and Sennheiser. However, I have often received complaints about background noise etc. because I am in the car and on travel a lot. That has now changed. I can tell you that I have been in my car, windows rolled down in traffic at 60 miles and hour and multiple people have confirmed they can't hear ANY background noise. Meaning they can't hear anything other than my voice. Now of course I don't intentionally drive like this while on a call but I threw everything at this headset so I would know, just in case what I needed to be concerned with and it came through with flying colors. Now, I will say, if you choose to have your head slightly out the window or sit directly in front of a fan on high, there will be some dropped Voice packets because no matter what, you can intentionally overwhelm the noise canceling capabilites but the amazing part is that the caller on the other line still hears no noise, just your voice cutting out a bit. This all may sound silly, but when you are walking down a street in the city, there can be an enormous amount of noise...cars, buses, people etc. We sometimes need to have a headset that can handle this stuff and the 5200 flat out crushes them all. Of course the over the ear design is a bit bulky but it does do a couple things. First it helps with the battery life. Second, it makes wearing it for long periods of time easier. For whatever reason, if I had an in ear model only, after a while I would have to take it off because my ear would literally get sore from wearing it. With this version, the weight seems to be distributed better and I get no pain even wearing it all day. It isn't Mission Impossible cool looking or anything but I much prefer form over fashion. One last note, Plantronics did a really cool thing with the case this time, allowing you to take a charger with you built in to the case which they have done before, particularly with the Edge, but in this case (pun intended), they took it a step further giving you the option of sitting the headset on the case with it closed to charge. I include a couple of pictures so you can see what I am talking about. This is awesome on several levels. It gives you a backup battery if you only have one headset (and it charges extremely fast, I think I had one on the charger for only like 15 minutes and got like 4 hours of talk time out of it), with two headsets you can swap them out of the case and have enough talk time to cover like 16 hours. I have had to swap between the two headsets multiple times and this battery pack lets you leave the charging cords at home. Really awesome. By the way, kudos to Plantronics for keeping the USB plug on the headset on this one. They had fiddled with non-USB contact chargers with USB adapters before that always drove me crazy. You have a micro USB plug right on the headset if you forget your battery pack and need to borrow someone's charger. Last but not least, this is a UC version which means you can connect it to your PC. A small Bluetooth PC adapter is included but I use a Microsoft Surface Book and it recognized and paired up with the 5200 immediately with no issues. This headset is a home run so far and for business users and road warriors, it looks like Plantronics has finally, truly conquered the noise cancelation issue, at least for me. Hope this Rd view help!!

Great for the pros !
I work as an emergency dispatcher. Recently, my agency update the phone system, the new phones allowed connection to Bluetooth. We use Cisco systems phones. It is very difficult taking calls, trying to type, and hold the phone receiver to your shoulder so you can hear your caller. I decided to try my apple AirPods to see if it would work. It did connect to them and I could hear callers Great, but unfortunately callers couldnโt hear me. So I said let me spend some money and get a more professional headset. I wanted to get something from Plantronics or similar, but was not looking to spend more than $120. I found the 5200 UC and checked the reviews. The first review I read had a similar experience as me. They tried the AirPods with the same result, they got the 5200 UC and it improved their calls tenfold! So I decided to go for it. I got the headset in one day. I was able to use the headset the following day. I charged the case and headset fully the day before. there is an app from poly you download in the App Store that lets you customize some settings. It also allows you to see the battery percentage, if the headset is connected to your iPhone, as well as use the find my app to locate the headset should you lose it. It is easy to connect to your Bluetooth. just use your device settings to add the device. The headset can connect to 2 devices simultaneously! You can add your work phone and your cellphone. It also allows you to play audio on the headset from one device and when your other device rings, it automatically pauses it so you can answer the call on the headset. When the call is released it will go back to the audio from your device. The headset itself is lightweight and fits comfortably. If you wear glasses as I do, I recommend removing your glass and putting the headset on then put your glasses back on. It gives you a better fit. The controls are in easy reach. I am constantly answering the phone from the one press button on the back of the microphone. The mute button works and it shows my mute on the phone itself as well as gives you an audio alert that the mic is muted. When the phone rings you hear โincoming callโ along with an alert tone. You can shut either of the voice or ringer off in the app. The earpiece fits comfortably. It rests over the ear canal. Calls sound extremely clear and you can use the volume on the headset or your phone to adjust caller volume. I have not had any issues with people hearing me. The outgoing audio seems very good and callers have not had issues understanding me. The carrying case is awesome! Thereโs a flip cover that closes to hold everything right. There is a spot to hold the usb dongle so you donโt have to worry about it falling out and losing it. The headset charges in the case laying down or you can use the outside charging stand for quick access . The battery life has been very good. I work 12 hour shifts. It lasted all day the first day and the second shift I worked with it was an 8 hour day. I had no problems listening to the audio from iPad and accepting phone calls my entire shift. The case charges via included usb cable. The only way to charge the headset is with the case unless you get other charger accessories you can search amazon for. As an emergency services dispatcher I approve of this headset! It has allowed me to be completely handsfree to concentrate on everything I need to now. I can easily use my radio, type, or multitask without having to worry about dropping my phone. It has changed the game for me!

LOVE IT. Had a coupe before .. but kinda pissed about this one........
So I got my new Plantronics earbud a couple days ago. Was very very excited. I've had a couple before and really liked them. My only issue with the earlier ones I used was they were easy to lose! Cuz they're nice, small - you throw them in your car, backpack - whatever - and later I found one chewed by my dog. Believe it or not I used it for several weeks then bought a new one. This one I decided to upgrade. I went for a more expense model -- all the reviews said the sound quality was excellent, noise cancelling great etc etc. It arrived -- I came home after a 12-plus shift -- and this is what was in the box with it: a large piece of paper, with "safety warnings", "charging warnings" and one other subject, ??user warnings? -- large piece of paper cuz was repeated in at least 12 or 15 languages. Fine. I get it - we're a global community. Another small folded paper was warranty info. Another was something about I think FCC compliance. NO OWNERS MANUAL. Absolutely no instructions on how to synch, how to charge - it comes with this really cool charging case. I am assuming, because I have yet to google and download an owner's manual you can keep the earbud in the charging case while your not using it -- and it will recharge. No idea how often the charging case has to be recharged...cuz yet to download the manual. BUT the biggest pain for me was just figuring out how to synch it and use it! I sat in my car today, googled plantronics 5200 earbud - how to synch with my iPhone...and got an answer. I have paid over $100 for this earbud -- why do I have to google to learn how to use it???? So I figured out how to synch and then my iPHONE, not plantronics, told me I needed to download an app to use the "devise." As I am sure you can tell, all of the above really really bugged me. Come on, Plantronics! We are giving you a chunk on change -- and you can't even give us an owner's manual????? Oh yea -- there was this other piece of thin cardboard insert, picturing the earbud, with arrows telling you volume controls, button to push to answer call, etc. But even that was very very minimal. I am kinda sorta fairly computer literate -- and I had to google how to synch, etc. Ok -- I've vented. Now -- about the earbud. It's really great. (If you can figure out how to use it). I called my sister on way home from work today and asked her how it compared to my "other"' earbud. She said, "OMG this is sooo much better!!! Your other one had this irritating clicking, background noise...drove me nuts...". (The other one was the earbud that came with my iPhone...the necklace you wear around your neck with earbuds hanging from their soft plastic lines, moorings, with magnetic plates so you can anchor them in the necklace - nice thought Apple. I love you but you missed it on this one...). Right now I am sitting here listening to my music via the Plantronics earbud...and I really gotta say the quality is great. Love it. Little mabbeso other note -- I decided to try one step smaller on the earbuds included, thinking it would nestle deeper in my ear canal and better sound transmission. Thought the smaller one was better until I tried the bigger one...now am thinking go bigger. Is easier to get a good seal -- hence better sound transmission without background dilution. But I suspect it's an individual preference. All in all this is a great Bluetooth earbud. If you don't mind not getting any instructions on how to use it when you get it. Easy to use and great quality. I would have rated it a 5 outta 5 if they hadn't pissed me off so bad with the no manual......

Great headset and great customer support
I think this is a great buy if you're looking for a quality conventional looking Bluetooth headset. I had an issue early on where my calls would drop randomly after 30+ minutes (long conference calls.) I called their customer support and immediately got a US based rep who walked me through updating the firmware and showed me the PLT Hub app which is great to have on your phone with this. I have had no troubles since. It has locating features to help if you misplace it and great sound quality. The battery life is very good along with the charging case. The only slight downside is how it fits due to my glasses. With wrap around style headsets there isn't anything you can do about that, but be aware. Edit: 8 months in and I think this is a great headset. The hands-free answering works great, the battery life is excellent, and it's quite comfortable overall. Since I've started work from home I found that this has excellent noise cancellation as I run a window AC unit in the room I use. Everyone says they can hear me very clearly and the sound quality is good. The only downside is that I feel like the max volume isn't very loud relative to my actual phone but to be fair have some moderate hearing damage in that ear. Despite the minor issues I would say this is a 5 out of 5. Update, Feb 2023: I've been using this over three years now for several hours per day M-F. The battery capacity is probably 3/4 of what it used to be but the unit performs flawlessly otherwise. I've replaced the little rubber ear piece a few times (a couple bucks each for an off-brand.) I highly recommend this headset

Fantastic. Buy it now. Just do it. No regrets.
Fantastic headset. I've tried many bluetooth headsets over the years, and this is hands down the best I've had the pleasure of using. Power user Windows 10 laptop I am a little disappointed by two things: 1. The range. OK, OK, I have wireless everything in my house, including the already crowded 2.4GHz and the newer 5 GHz bands, but still. I should be able to walk all around my house (three story) and not get digital dropout. 2. "Mute on, mute off" Like a re-run of The Karate Kid, this headset refuses to play nicely with GoToMeeting for some reason. It's the only app so far with this issue. I've opened a bug report with GoToMeeting and they have no idea what's up. You press the mute button on the headset and it Mutes, then immediately unmutes itself for no apparent reason. I end up calling in with Google Hangouts or my soft phone and the mute feature works fine. Things I love: 1. Fantastic quality. The voice quality is amazing. Perfect clarity for both sides. 2. Connects easily after being idle Goes to "sleep" when sitting on the desk. Phone rings from across the room, just pick this guy up and put it on your ear and it will automatically connect and answer the call. Very cool! 3. Long battery life Very impressed with the battery life after being on some marathon conf. calls. It will even continue to work while charging and wearing. It's a little uncomfortable, but it works file. Don't hesitate. Just buy this headset. It's expensive, yes, but it's WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Works some what, needs improvements for caller ID functions...
I got this with the charging stand. The headset can go into the stand two ways. One way allow you to carry in your pocket. The other way allows you to charge it like on a desk so you can quickly grab it. The Blutooth dongo for the headset fits into a little slot inside the carrying case. It took me about 5 minutes to find it. I like the fat some functions speak for a blind person. However some things you need to install the PC or phone software to turn on or off functions. Speaking of the PC, not all function work with a screen reader. Very little works that away. The headset if you are in an office, this is a good headset. However to me, this headset fits loosely on my ear. It feels like it will fall off easy if I have to move my head quickly. I tried all three sizes of ear tips and none of them make the headset feel secure. If you do a lot of walking outside; This does handle wind noise very well and background noise well like with traffic. However if you need to ware a hat like in the winter! This isn't a good headset do to the way the microphone sticks out of your ear. It will cover the controls and will cause the headset microphone to put a lot of pressure on your ear. To me, this is very bad being I walk 4 to 5 miles per day. I like the fact that the USB charging port is on the bottom of the headset and the volume buttons are on the very top of it. Now to some other down sides. The talking caller ID will not read a number of an incoming call if the person isn't in your contact list. The caller ID only will speak the name once for the initial incoming call. Nothing is spoken on call waiting calls. You must go in with the Plantronics hub to turn on the HD Audio at least in my testing to get the caller ID to work at all. It will not tell you the headset is muted more than once if you mute it and then start to speak. It will maybe tell you the first time only. This is with the latest software for it from May/June 2018. If you change the mute reminder to anything other then the default of 15 minutes, it will not remind you the headset is muted if you start to speak. For a blind person if you need to update the software on the headset! You basically can't with using the cell phone to do it. It tells you to lay down the headset. No issue with doing that, However control isn't returned back to the cell phone so a blind person can continue using a screen reader to continue with the update process for the headset. No speak output.

Perfect Headset for Work and Personal Life
I gave this headset 5 stars all around. The USB connector makes it super easy to connect to the computer for Zoom, Skype, Gotomeeting, and other technologies. I've received many compliments on how clear the audio is on their end both connected to computer and mobile phone. Noise cancellation works well for wind and certain other sounds but heavy wind will still affect he device. I haven't owned a headset that handles high wind well. Battery life is great - 6 hours. And it takes about 45 minutes to charge the headset and the charging carding case.... which is a superb inclusion with this package. It protects and charges your headset. Expect a slight decline of charge after about 1-2 years. This is typical for Wireless headsets. The headset fits well over my ear. It's not too heavy. The package also comes with extra / replacement ear pieces in case you need an different fit. On my last headset, the inner ear piece broke. This happened on another plantronics headset I owned. It's common ... just be aware you may need ear pieces in the future depending on how hard you are on the headset. The inner pieces are very comfortable for extended use. I use mine many hours of the day. I've owned a multitude of headsets over many years - Jawbone, Various Plantronics including wired and wireless, Turtle Beach, Logitech, and more. I've used them for Gaming, business, and personal life applications. This headset is perfect for everything I need... I highly recommend. The only wish I have is that I could connect to 3 devices - 2 cell phones and a laptop. You can set the headset up on all 3 devices, but the headset cannot be active on all 3. Most people don't have my scenario though. If you have 3 devices and are already connected to 2 devices, you have to shut off Bluetooth on 1 device to get it to connect to the 3rd device. For example - if you're already connected to 2 mobile phones, you have to Turn Bluetooth off on 1 to connect the USB connector on the laptop. It's not a huge deal - just a heads up to you.

Quality audio for calls but extra features are not working as they should...
I have had 2 of the Plantronics Voyager Legend for years but one of them physically broke and the other does not hold charge for 6 hours any longer. When I realized that I needed a bluetooth microphone for my desktop computer to complete a couple of instructional videos, I figured I should purchase this Voyager 5200 UC because although it was expensive it would be an upgrade from the one I had and would cover the need for the desktop computer. First let me say that the sound clarity, just like the previous models, is superb. I use it with an iPhone 7 Plus and in some situations people can hear me better through this ear piece than the phone itself. The noise cancelling function is one of the best in the market and you can have a conversation with this on while you are driving with the window down. This is not an exaggeration. I have been stuck in slow moving traffic on the highway with the windows down while on a conference call. Nobody had any issues hearing me clearly and if you try that without noise canceling, you will find that the engines of the trucks around you are very loud. I gave it only 3 stars because Plantronics is trying to make this more advanced by using speech recognition but it is getting to the point that all this is getting in the way of good functionality. It deserves 5 stars for the sound quality but not at this price. The reason I took 2 stars off is because I paid the high price for the following functions that are not working good for me. 1) When the phone rings, it keeps asking "answer or ignore" and when I say answer, 30% of the time it does not understand and keeps asking. Yet a few days ago I was working with my assistant on a project that was time critical and the phone started to ring. I looked at my phone, recognized the caller and I thought to my self, "I will call her back". Then my assistant said, "are you going to answer it" and the next thing I know the ear piece announced "Answering call". Apparently, it has trouble with the way I say "Answer" but it heard the word in my assistants sentence. So this feature that was fairly useless, is now also unpredictable because other people can force me to answer my phone just by asking if I am going to answer it. 2) I connected it to a PC with Windows 8.1 Pro by using the included bluetooth USB adapter but I found the following problems. First, there is no easy way of switching between this device and the speakers. I have to right click on the speaker icon, select "Playback Devices" and make this the default device. That means, I cannot just turn it off to go back to my regular speakers and I have to do the same in order to set the regular speakers as default. 3) When the USB adapter is plugged in to the computer, it will announce that the PC is connected. But after a few connect/disconnect, it gets stuck and as soon as it announces "PC connected" it makes the 3 tone signal (audio channel tone) that I hear when a device is about to send audio to the ear piece. When this happens, I can no longer use the ear piece with the phone so I have to unplug the USB adapter from the computer so I can use it again. 4) In the morning, I some times put this ear piece in my ear but forget to turn it on. With the older version, when the phone was ringing and I would turn on the ear piece, it would take over and I could answer and talk through it. With this one, if the phone is ringing and I turn it on, nothing happens and I have to wait until the phone is not in use to power cycle the ear piece so it can connect to the phone. Some of these issues can be corrected by simply disabling the functions from the settings and some can be corrected by future firmware updates. Yet, I feel that I paid extra for these functions and at this time, they are not working at all or they are not working as they should. If you are looking for just a great ear piece to use with your phone, you should consider the legend version ( Plantronics Voyager Legend Wireless Bluetooth Headset - Compatible with iPhone, Android, and Other Leading Smartphones - Black ) that costs about half the price and has high quality audio like this one.

Probably the best BT headset for a long time...
I've had numerous Bluetooth headset in my life, and my last one was a Plantronics as well (Marquee M165 I got as a X-mas gift). The M165 I had received about 2 yrs ago had lots of trouble to work correctly with my iPhone 5 (and later 6), dropping constantly the calls and having problems to pair again. I opened a support ticket with customer service and it took quite a while and hassle before they agreed to exchange the unit. The second one worked better, so I suspect it was related to a firmware issue.. Unfortunately I lost the 2ne unit a while after and I didn't replaced it, as from the wearing confort I felt it was not so good. My all-time best BT headset was a Jabra BT8010, which was a genius engineering piece as you could attach a second hearing piece. However it wasn't perfect as the hook was breaking on a regular basis and I had to buy quite a few replacements. In the end it also had firmware issues that were never really addressed by Jabra and then got discontinued. Recently I started to work more & more with online customers thru Skype and the like tools, so I had to find a good headset, and wearing the cable-bound ones wasn't very practical. My car also had hands-free built-in BT thru MS Sync, so I hadn't a need for another BT set. But with the above mentioned issue, I decided to shop around for another new BT headset. When a friend of mine talked about the Voyager from PLT, I looked up reviews and was quite disappointed by the first edition, as it was not using standard USB charging ports. Then I saw the 5200 UC, which was an improved version of the original one, and let me tell you that it is one of the best piece of technology in this area.. The concept of the carrying box with the built-in battery to recharge the headset is genius.. wish more manufacturers do that. The wearing confort is also excellent, though I'm little worried about the longevity of the flexible hook part, which I feel is not very strong.. but only time will tell if PLT used 1st grade material to build this. The sound quality seems excellent, as one person on the phone recently told me that even with the lot of background noise they had around them, my voice was clear and loud. I haven't tested it yet with a windy outdoor condition, but the multi-microphone concept is supposed to take care of this and the noise cancellation too. The buttons are well positioned and it doesn't take long to get used to it. The first days I wore it, I almost forget about it, as it is not feeling heavy or getting in the way... The behind the ear wear is very confortable and doesn't hurt after several hours, even as I have glasses. I love the auto-answering mode when you put the 5200 UC on it's holding socket in the box and when someone calls, you just pick it up and the call is answered. I also paired thru BT with my laptop, which works well, but on my Desktop PC I don't have Bluetooth, so the USB dongle is exactly what is needed in those cases. All in all this headset is becoming my next all-time runner up headset. Will post an update in a few months after I got a little more practical daily use.

Easy to connect, great battery life, unobtrusive
Wish I had bought this years ago. I forget itโs on my ear and wear it all day. Ideal for Skype and Zoom meetings on my laptop. Mobile phone via Bluetooth is ok. Range nowhere near 10 meters when there are walls in the way.

Probably one of the best earpieces I've ever used.
Ok, basics. There are 2 versions of the 5200 available - the 5200 UC and the 5200. The UC version is supplied with a USB Bluetooth dongle, which can provide Bluetooth capability to to a Windows or Apple PC, in the event that they do not have it already (1 USB port is taken up by the dongle, if used). Both the 5200 and the 5200 UC support the basic features of answer/reject call, volume up/down, etc, but the addition of a dedicated button allows the headset to trigger Siri/Alexa, etc if so set up. The case doubles as a charger with blue LED charge indicators on one corner, when the headset is either in the case, or stood in the charging recess on a desk, however, as a few other commentators have said, the placement is quite critical and whilst the headset looks to be 'seated', it isn't, so is not charging (I solved this by connecting the micro-USB charging port to the pc, the pc then provides an audible confirmation of the connection, with the Plantronics hub software providing a visual one in the system tray (the icon changes)). The use of the Plantronics hub software (Windows/IOS and Mac) is strongly recommended, as there have been a number of firmware updates for the 5200, and the hub software is how it's installed. Comfort-wise, the unit is light to wear and supplied with differing size ear-buds, with replacements available if needed, and sonically works very well indeed with both mobile phone calls and Teams calls (using Windows pc or iPad), with very clear audio in all cases. No 13A UK charger is supplied, as the case uses a traditional micro-USB socket for charging.
