Has anyone tried this in a home with cats?

I have an existing one (flowers) I have had for 10 yrs between our bathroom and bedroom. Cats included. They ignore it. That said. Kittens can be a handful at first and then they tend to ignore it once they get a bit older. Mine is flowers and is pretty old now. I need to rethread it but I am going to get this bookcase one. It would be perfect in our house!

Question 2

The description say it is hung by  a hanging bar. Can someone describe this hanging bar and how it is hung. The more detail the better. .

It is a 35" long 1" X 1" wooden bar with eye-hooks affixed 8" in from each end. Because I like mine affixed stronger and not depending on eye-hooks, I ignore them and just attach the bar above the door with two wood screws at the same location as the eye-hooks. That ensures that it's not loosely hanging on the eye-hooks by firmly affixed to the area above the door. Also, if you have never had a bead curtain; you have to learn to use your hand to "part the way" because if you just charge through, the strands will get caught on  your body and you may break one. I always think of Moses parting the sea; sticky you hand hand and as you walk through - the strands will naturally open around your body.

How do you open/close beaded book curtain??

Not easily, I am beginning to think I made a mistake with it.  You can use a sash to pull it back, but then you can't see the pattern.  If you leave it closed and go in and out of it the beads start to break off.  The only good thing is that fly's won't go thru it when it's closed.

Can you see the bookcase design on both sides?

I haven't hung it up yet.  Its  a little longer then I thought it was going to be so it drags on the carpet I think that takes away from the over all of the bookcase design.
