Very complex installation but best alarm ever
This is a universal alarm and a very complex installation, but Compustar corporate does not want non-pros installing it so they do not provide any support unlike most alarm brands. This is a very high end alarm but you are on your own to understand, install and set it up. Having said that there are many unofficial resources online you can find if you know how to search. I found them, I have an extensive background in electronics and automotive tech and for me it was not that big of a deal. Most non-pros will find this difficult. You have been warned. It is compatible with any car if you know what you are doing, the older that car is the easier it is. OBD2 and older vehicles are easier, CAN bus is more difficult and will likely require additional purchases for complete functionality. If you do not know what those are and don't know what your car has you should probably not try this. I have had it installed and working for over a year and it is fantastic, the best alarm I have ever used or even heard of.

Amazing range!
I have one on my JEEP and bought one for my daughter. I have been in a bar (with loud music) and another building next to the parking garage, when my JEEP tires were bumped by smaller cars. My alarm has had me out there twice before the other person had gotten out of the car. Great range with remote start and alarm. I feel secure leaving my vehicle in parking lots with this highly functional addition.

Big improvement over factory and the added security is nice.
I installed this on my 2006 Ford F-250 with a 6.0-liter engine. It wasn’t too difficult to install. I had done a lot of research and joined some Facebook installer groups to get information. It took me about 3 hours to install, and it was pretty straightforward. I used the wire diagram that came with it and labeled all the wire colors I needed to tap into, which made it easier to install. Just be aware that Compustar will only help dealers and won’t help you if you have issues, but there are groups on Facebook that will help you out. Overall happy with it. Similar systems are 800 installed at Best Buy so this one was 1/4 of the price.

Not for inexperienced installer!
Caution: This unit does not have exact install instructions. It uses a wire diagram that you or installer have to understand. That said, Compustar IS a quality brand and this alarm is well worth the money. The remotes are easy to use, with the display remote acting as a 2-way to alert you to status and if alarm is triggered. One nice feature, the window unit (antenna) has a built-in LED that faces outside in case you don't want to mount the other LED in dash or wherever (I run both). The level of security features you get for the money are well worth the budget-friendly price. Highly recommend and my brother's getting one as well now.

Compustar wants their products off AMAZON..
As I opened the install instructions there was a note that stated "visit firstecdata for full instruction guide". I could not download the guide without a dealer number. I called the 888 number and was told that a guide will not be provided unless I was a professional; I let them know that I was a professional installer for many years and this was for personal use. They said I was not on their list for certification and an installation guide would not be provided. I then asked "why are your products on Amazon for consumer sale when you will not allow install by a consumer even though they are a professional?" They responded with "we are fighting to get our products off Amazon and only for sale by dealers". I don't believe this because their products have been on Amazon for years. Regardless... I recommend you stay away from this product; not because of its quality, but because of its complete lack of customer service. I did actually find the coveted install guide on another website but still decided to return the product because of the lack of service to the end user. Sticker on outside of Box says "Professional installation "RECOMMENDED" .... Does not say required.

Great alarm well worth the effort to install
First off you will need at least basic 12v electrical tools & knowledge to complete the installation successfully. That said the alarm is very nice & allows for future firmware upgrades & expansion of sensors, it's also blade compatible. If your in need of schematics try bulldogsecurity.com & look for vehicle wiring diagrams as the compustar firstech website will only supply dealers with that info. You can also buy some or most diagrams from crutchfield. The install instructions leave you wanting, so search online for cm900as v1.1 master install & that pdf should explain the hookups with enough detail. NOTE only use ver. 1.1 programming options if you have updated the cm otherwise use the programming menu that came with the alarm in the box. It took me about 6 hours to do the install on a diesel truck which included the programming. If you are doing the install yourself I highly recommend the op500 programming tool to help you navigate through the different options successfully as there are many. This alarm kit came with the cm900as brain or cm, main power & input/output harnesses, starter disable relay & harness, basic adjustable shock sensor, antenna and cable, 1 2way lcd remote & 1 1way 4 button remote, 1 hood pin switch and a blue led to show alarm status. I would recommend the upgrade to the das-ii sensor in place of the shock sensor supplied with the alarm kit. But the components and build quality seem to be of a high standard & I've yet to have a problem with it. I've since added the drone mobile to the alarm which is better in my opinion than any 2 way remote. It's $6 a month & you can start/stop & lock/unlock your car with your phone through the app anywhere, anytime as long as it has 4g reception to the drone in the car. I have to say I am very happy with the choice I made, you will be to.
