Night Parade Of Dead Souls: Japanese Ghost Paintings (Ukiyo-e Master Series)

Uncompelling textually but nonetheless a fabulous book to sit and "read." I enjoy horror as a genre and I like Japanese art from this period so it's a no-brainer for me but wider audiences might also appreciate the quality printing, haunting images and almost comical footnotes.

VERY SPOOKY STUFF...AND THE REPRODUCTION IS FAR SUPIERIOR TO THIS PUBLISHERS PREVIOUS EFFORTS...NICE GLOSS PAPERSTOCK WITH VERY ARTFUL REPRODUCTION...IN MY OPIONION THE PINNACLE OF THE SERIES."DAL LAZLO SAYS YOU CAN USE THIS STUFF TO CREATE SCARY PICTURES IN YOUR MIND AND ART"BUY IT TODAY YOU WILL LOVE IT.EXOTIC CREEPY AND MORBIDLY POETIC.

This book contains 70 Japanese yurei (faded spirit) female ghost paintings. The quality of the paper in the book is high and there are some nice close ups of some of the paintings as well. I would give this book five stars if it gave a little more information on each painting and artist, which is my only complaint about the book. I am glad it is on my bookshelf.

I think the pictures are good not great. The variety isn't as diverse as I'd hoped for. Many that give the feeling "haven't I seen this one already?" There is a brief article at the beginning of the book but nothing other than basically titles for the images throughout. So this is...a decent collection but maybe look for a used copy rather than full price.
