DOM Enlightenment: Exploring JavaScript and the Modern DOM

Very good book to know about HTML noodes. A lot of simple examples which shows how it works. Good for beginners and for advanced technics.

Agree with other reviewers on content and presentation. Big drawback to Kindle version is no Table of Contents. When seeking specific areas of discussion you're faced with thumbing through many pages looking for that one topic of interest.

Awesome book, really hit the nail on the head for me. I was looking for something that explained the DOM and this small but precise book did it for me

Got this because I needed to learn some native DOM manipulation for a job interview I was going to have. It's a very direct book which in my opinion covers the most useful parts of the native/modern DOM model. I read all of it in one night and I think it is one of the best references I've read in the last year and has definitely made me a better front end developer.

This book is excellent for anyone seeking to understand how the DOM works. As Bill and Ted would say, "Most excellent dude!" This is the second Cody book I bought, he is a good author.

Wow, I didn't realize there was so much to the DOM. I thought I was an expert until I read this book and discovered that I could do so much more.

Eine wirklich sehr ausführliche Darstellung, dessen was man mit der Dom-Api so alles anstellen kann. Auch ist alles klar und übersichtlich beschrieben und mit Beispielen hinterlegt.

This book provide a comprehensive overview of the objects and methods that make up the API for programming web pages known as the Document Object Model. Each chapter covers a particular object type and follows a standard template, so it can feel a bit pedestrian at times. I'm not sure what level of experience the book is aimed at. For example, it expects you to know what a polyfill is. If you know that already then you are likely already to understand a great deal of what the book covers. The most enlightening chapter is the final one where the author takes the reader through the creation a small, JQuery like framework. I would quite like to see a whole book that takes this approach to teaching the JavaScript language and the patterns and practices of modern web development to experienced programmers. The book has no index, which, in this day and age is pretty unforgiveable. Overall the book provides good coverage of the subject. You may not attain enlightenment but you will increase your knowledge of the low level API for prgramming web pages.
