Make ice fast
Our icemake in our refrigerator broke (avoid Samsung appliances), so we bought this. It worked great for a year with us making ice almost daily. We bought a new refrigerator and passed this on to our son. It continues to work. Would buy again.

Great Ice Maker
Bought this for a temporary living space for work and transitioned it to our camper, then stole it from the camper to the house going to buy another one! Works great and puts out a lot of ice! The only downside is you do have to stay on top of the water but that’s probably all counter top ice makers, I’ve been so pleasantly surprised with how well it works.

Super cool
We ended up buying this Frigidaire Portable Ice Maker after the ice maker in our fridge went out—and honestly, it turned out to be a better replacement than what we had before. Setup was super simple. Just add water, plug it in, and within minutes it starts producing ice. It’s surprisingly fast and keeps a steady supply going throughout the day, which is perfect for daily use or when you have people over. The 26 lbs per day capacity is more than enough for our household. We’ve never run out of ice, and it’s actually more convenient than relying on the fridge since it produces fresh batches continuously. The size is great too—compact enough to sit on the counter without taking up too much space, but still powerful enough to get the job done. It also runs fairly quietly, which was a nice bonus. Build quality feels solid, and it’s easy to clean and maintain. Overall, this ended up being a huge upgrade for us. If your fridge ice maker dies or you just want something more reliable and efficient, this is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Affordable
The unit is compact and easy to use, and it does exactly what it is supposed to do without much setup. The only downside is that the ice will melt if you leave it sitting in the machine too long, since it does not keep the ice frozen. As long as you transfer it to the freezer, it works perfectly. Overall, a great and convenient ice maker with fast performance, just keep in mind it is meant to make ice, not store it.

Chewy fast ice!
I’ve only had my little red beauty two days, so I will update down the road if I have any issues. First, make sure you let your ice maker sit on the counter a couple hours before you fire it up. They always are on their side or upside when you order this kind of stuff! Meanwhile, you can get it all cleaned out and ready to go! Second addressing noise issues. I personally think it is very quiet. A low hum when running, similar to a good refrigerator. Barely noticeable background noise. Makes a small noise dumping ice of course, but I don’t know how you could expect that to be silent! The ice starts out a bit smaller at first and got to its normal size of maybe 3/4” wide by an inch long after a batch or two. First batch took about 9 minutes, I’d say 6-7 after that when it had gotten fully chilled. I got maybe 4-5 batches from one fill of water, but that’s a bit hard to say because I couldn’t keep my fingers out of it from eating it as soon as it’d drop some! Now for the important part. (In my book). I’m a long time DEDICATED ice chomper. Me and my dentist have a love/hate relationship. My favorite of course, is the tiny little “sonic ice.” I have bought one other ice maker, that was supposed to be pellet ice. (NOT the $500 GE). Paid around $200. It takes up like 3 times the counter space, and ya better be patient to get enough for a decent glass. Pull up a chair, start a movie, and WAIT. Then, it was still too hard for my liking. Currently lounging on a shelf in the garage after using maybe 6 times. This guy has little oblong domes, very “white” ( iykyk) meaning it’s soft and chewable. Kind of like compacted slush. I’m happy, teeth are happy, dentist, probably not so much! Even after putting in freezer to save, the ice I use later returns to a pretty chewy state after a couple minutes in your drink. For the price point, I’d say DO IT. As others have mentioned, it you are having a pool party with 20 people, thus ain’t your guy. But if it’s you and another, it’s great for on demand, “soft” ice!

Great appliance that I didn't know I needed!
I love this icemaker. It's so easy to use and it makes great ice. I like ice, so I've always worried, slightly, about how my teeth feel about that passion. No worries with this ice. It just the right size, it freezes solid when you put it in a bag and throw it in a freezer, but it softens just right when it's in a drink. It's also great to have ice available so quickly. The first couple of dumps are small, but it freezes quickly, so it's not long until you have ice, if you forgot to make some in advance. Don't plan on supplying all the ice for your next house party, unless you plan ahead, but it's just right for everyday ice needs.

Fast, large water reservoir and Consumer Reports Recommended
Not knowing much about countertop icemakers, I turned to my Consumer Reports subscription and discovered that this unit was listed as a "CR Recommended" machine. Unlike many of the units, this one has about twice the water capacity than most of them out there. It also makes ice extremely fast. I had pictured having to have the unit turned on all the time and really didn't want that. It turns out they tell you to transfer the ice to your freezer which is exactly what I wanted. So in the matter of a couple hours it makes enough ice to fill our in-door ice hopper and we drain the machine and prop the lid open so it will dry out. A hopper full of ice last us a few days. One of the negatives of this and probably all of these units is that it produces wet ice which will freeze together in your freezer (see pictures) however they break up easily with a butter knife or even the ice dispenser itself seems to be able to break it up. Why the wet ice? If you look at my second photo you will see several metal rods poking down. These have freon passing through them and get very cold. Water is pumped from the reservoir directly below the basket into an upper tray. The compressor turns on and the rods get super cold. Ice forms and in less than 10 minutes the compressor turns off, the water drains back down into the reservoir and the ice on these rods slips off into the tray. The air in the unit really isn't cold so the ice is wet. It then gets pushed into the tray and it starts all over again. The manual says the ice will last in the tray 18 hours but I move the full tray into our freezers hopper as soon as it is full where it sticks together. I think this explains why you have to smash commercial ice bags to break them apart as they are probably made the same way. I love the fact it was recommended by CR and the familiar Frigidaire name...as opposed to XFUNDUICE or something silly like that. I also love the price point, especially since some of the other CR Recommended units were over $700 and there was one that had the same exact rating number that was over $300! It comes with a 1 year warranty but for something like $30 you can extend it 2 years. That is probably not a bad deal but I had a hard time spending 30% more since it will pay for itself (based on purchasing ice from the gas station as we have been doing) in a few short months. Oh, and shame on the well known appliance company that won't stand behind our 2020 covid-built refrigerator with built-in icemaker. The only reason their repairman is lonely these days is because they refuse to honor warranty claims.

Great Product That Doesn't Break the Bank But Some Limitations
Overall happy with the purchase. Our fridge ice maker is broken and can't easily be repaired, we this is a decent alternative. We are a family of five, but only 2 people in the home are regular ice users. PROS: -Makes ice fairly quickly. -Generally attractive looking on the counter. -Not silent, but the noise is not problematic. -Small plug on the bottom makes it easy to drain it out from underneath by pulling it out a bit over the edge of the counter with a cup underneath when done making ice, but water is still in the well. (You can tip it over and spill the water out as well, but it says that it's best to keep it flat so the refrigerant fluids inside the machine stay settled.) -Ice in the tray that melts drips directly into the water well, which going back into the ice-making cycle. CONS: -Main downside (which I think it going to be similar with most products at this price point, but do your own research), is that the unit itself is not a freezer. It's just an insulated box, so once the ice is made, it will slowly start to melt. Melted ice, as noted above, drips back into the well so it will keep melting and making new ice if you leave it on all the time unless you are using the ice in real time. I have been running it for a day or so and when I walk past it throughout the day, I empty the ice basket into a container in my freezer to build up a supply for a few days. -The number of ice cubes per session is kind of small, maybe enough for two tumblers, but it only takes about 10 minutes per session. -It needs to have some space around the back and side of the unit from the wall (I think it says something like 6 inches) so air can circulate to keep it working efficiently. Not great if you only have a tight space. Hard to say how critical that is. Final verdict: I don't regret the purchase, but I wish it were able to keep the ice frozen once made.

Absolutely fantastic
This was all I dreamed it would be. Fast ice making, large enough capacity area to make multiple "loads". It paid for itself this summer (as opposed to buying bags of ice. Some have complained that the ice starts melting right away. It's really not that bad. I use a plastic container in my freezer and dump when I remember it's ready. One pro tip. If you put the basket in and it still won't go, take basket out, and place it straight level down. I had one episode where one edge of the basket got caught on the edge, and as soon as I repositioned it, it was fine. This thing has literally been running 24/7 since I bought it (I think it was in may.). It's my favorite purchase that I've gotten a lot of use out of. It's also whisper quiet, except for the quick dump in the basket of the cubes. The large cubes are also perfect for most med. To wide mouth water bottles. It's made a huge difference in my water consumption (our water tastes like crap, and it's undrinkable room temp. I would DEFINITELY recommend this one.

La amo!!!
Cumple su función, no siento que haga casi ruido, si tiene dos medidas de hielo pero es muy poca diferencia. Estoy feliz con mi compra. En la foto se ven los 2 tamaños de hielo.

Baby it's cold inside.
Great look. Great performance. Makes ice as fast as I can use it. The copper finish perfectly fits my decor. Amazing customer service. My first one was damaged and wouldn't make ice. Easy peasy return and shipped me a new one right away. 5 stars for customer service.

114 V - American plug - requires a transformer
This is beautiful BUT is only 114 voltage, has an American plug, and requires a transformer. Because of the massive amount of space needed for everything, I had to return it.

Excelente producto
Funciona muy bien, trabaja prácticamente día y noche y súper confiable. Me sorprendió gratamente.
