Really works, easy to use, great value.
I bought this IR blaster so that I could use my iPhone as a universal remote when staying in hotels that have the TVs locked out and those that use "Clean remotes" (those white/teal colored remotes that are easier to keep clean but have few buttons) that lack an input button (for if you want to use the TV to connect to a game console, laptop, phone/tablet, etc.). If you unplug the ethernet cable on the back of those (most common these days) you can unlock features but the Clean remote will not longer work, so you need a universal remote. Rather than buy and carry around one or more remotes (so that you don't have to program a Samsung vs a LG TV for instance), you can get this IR blaster and use your phone instead. This one has a lightning port for iPhone use and the USB-C one is for other Android device use. You do need to download an app that seems pretty safe/legit from the app store, but once you do you can easily search for the device/TV and basically if you use the configuration for any TV of the same brand it should work (e.g. if you select a Samsung TV of any model it will probably work with whatever Samsung TV you try it on), which is good because it's not always possible to find the exact TV model. Only quibble is that I couldn't get the rotate/reverse function to work, which would flip the app orientation so that you can point the IR blaster end at the TV and the remote buttons on the screen will be facing the right way. I couldn't get it to work but even so it's a great, cheap little device that will be very handy when I travel (or at home).

Hardware may be ok, but software stinks
I love the idea. The adapter is unobtrusive, good looking, ... very nice. However, I don't know if it works because the software is terrible. The software User Guide is only 1 page long and useless. Image does rotate to allow you to point adapter at device but it always rotated 180 degrees wrong. Adding devices only allows you to select manufacturer of your device. it then offers a power button that you're supposed to use to test whether the first code powers your device. If it works, you are supposed to press "useful" button. If not, press "useless" button and it will go to another code for you to test. Sony projectors had 25 codes to go through. This was ok and I finally got the right code. With Roku, instead of the power button for testing, it gave me a screen layout display. Nothing worked and there was no way to try other codes. Referring to the software user guide was useless and very hard to find. The manufacturer of this hardware (no doubt in China) should recognize the shortcomings of the software they recommend (I don't think they wrote or provide the software). If that is the software they wish to suggest, they should write their own instructions to supplement intuition. If courting the US market, they should be sure it is written by someone from the US that isn't a geek and knows how to write something that is complete and makes sense. Even if this means adding $5 to the price of the adapter. it would be a bargain (if it works). As it is, at least for me, this is NOT a value. I'm returning it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Convenient and Compact IR Remote Controller! The R09 Mini Smartphone IR Remote Controller Adapter is a fantastic gadget for controlling all my devices seamlessly! It works perfectly with my iOS smartphone, allowing me to manage my air conditioner, TV, DVD player, and STB effortlessly. The setup is straightforward, and the compact design makes it easy to carry around. I love the convenience of having one universal remote for multiple devices, and the infrared functionality works reliably. This adapter has definitely simplified my home entertainment experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to streamline their remote controls!

Clunky but usable until latest iOS update
Had to use the alternative app which is a bit clunky with the latest ios update it says ‘Accessory not supported’ so it isnt usable … is there a software patch coming to resolve this? Until this, this device is not usable

Expect very basic functionality
Came with brief instructions and QR code to install from app store. Initial attempt to match codes with my Sony TV took a long time - 38 variations of power button which seems ridiculous given Sony is a common brand at least in the US. Additional few buttons tested/confirmed and it made a lot of assumptions about remaining features. In the end it’s good for basic power, volume, mute but on a smart TV does not present enough of the special buttons for menu navigation. I was expecting this would likely be the case, so it does the minimum for what I wanted which is small form factor and basic functions.

Neat little iPhone toy
The app that was pictured or mention didn’t load in the US app stores but the company emailed a link to another app before I even asked. It works as intended but I used it on my Frigidaire room AC unit and it changed the temp gauge to metric. Not the fault of the product. Came with a handy keychain dongle so you can take it and use it when you need it.

Great concept, horrible execution
The iPhone version relies on the use of the app called Ocrustar. This is perhaps one of the worst apps I've used. First, you have to select your manufacturer from a list that you can't search. And, many of the names are out of alphabetical order. Oh, and there are well over a hundred names--good luck! Then, when you find the manufacturer, you have to try a number of various remote codes and see which work with your device, with the "Power" button being the way to check it. However, on my device only one code worked with the power button, but ALL of the other buttons would give multiple, simultaneous inputs. For example, pressing Mute also brought up the Netflix App on my TV. Pressing Volume Up resulted in the Picture setup menu also loading. Every button in the App did this sort of behavior. I've used similar devices in the past before, and the accompanying apps were at least usable. This "Ocrustar" is just trash.

It’s not perfect, but it works!
It’s not perfect, but it works! The power button on my Vizio TV remote stopped working. I had been thinking about getting an IR blaster for my audio receiver because it’s OLD and the remote had multiple buttons that didn’t work. So, I picked up this tiny device mainly because it was the only lightning adapter I could find. Lo and behold, it works! It works perfectly with the TV, but sadly with the stereo I can only get it to control the Power and Volume. The one drawback that I am experiencing for TV control is the ability to switch between inputs. There’s a button that takes you to a sort of “added features page” in the app where the Inputs button is located. You have to be quite quick to tap that button and then get back to the main screen to tap up or down before the TV takes away the inputs screen. All in all I’m happy with it.
