Does this have synthetic A, that is palmitate or natural = acetate? Please give a straight answer.

This product is on the shelf of my Naturpath’s office....she does not like synthetics. Hope this helps!! She has us use one bottle of the 25,000 and then drop to 10,000. for a few months,

Yes, it is mixed with synthetic retinyl palmitate. I have an allergy to it, and had an allergic reaction to this product. Read my review. The product label is misleading.

Vitamin A is a group of nutritional organic compounds that includes retinol, retinal, and retinoic acid. Retinoic acid is synthesized in the body from retinol via two enzymatic reactions, involving first reversible oxidation of retinol to retinal, and then a second oxidation, this time irreversibly, to retinoic acid. To the best of my knowledge, Cod Liver Oil does not contain any free retinoic acid. In foods of animal origin (Cod Liver Oil, Liver of various animals, Dairy), the major form of vitamin A is an ester, primarily retinyl palmitate, which is converted to retinol (chemically an alcohol) in the small intestine. The retinol form functions as a storage form of the vitamin, and can be converted to and from its visually active aldehyde form, retinal. Retinol, the form of vitamin A absorbed when eating animal food sources, is a yellow, fat-soluble substance. Since the pure alcohol form is unstable, the vitamin is found in tissues in a form of retinyl ester. It is also commercially produced and administered as esters such as retinyl acetate or palmitate. The Vitamin A in Cod Liver Oil is naturally occurring retinyl palmitate. Retinyl palmitate is also synthetically produced. According to Consumer Lab there is no difference in action if the retinyl palmitate is of natural origin vs synthetic.

Contains soy

My naturopath recommended this and it has no retinyl palmitate, so that’s good. However, it DOES contain soy. It’s right on the label. This is advertised as “soy free.” It’s not.
