Tesla Model 3, Model X, and Model Y string key chain rope lanyard

I bought this lanyard to replace an official Tesla Key Band for the Model X fob that I had bought about a year ago. The problem with the Tesla key band is that it loosed over time and the fob would just slip out of the band. T This lanyard has a fairly thin string since for the Model X fob the lanyard has to be thin so that it can be clipped into the hole in the plastic. I can't say much about the durability of the string since I haven't had it long, but it seems sufficiently strong to me. I like this lanyard since it keeps my keys together in one small group, especially compared with the bundle when I as using the Tesla band, which seems bulky in comparison. btw this product is designed to fit the Tesla fobs with the clips (Model X,3,Y). If you need to loop the lanyard through itself, like on the Model S fob, the string is probably too short.

Tesla Model 3 FOB works better without a metal or silicone cover on it. Those covers interfere with the signal to the proximity sensor to get into your Tesla, and also put your Tesla into Drive, Neutral or Reverse. This keychain loop solves that problem.

Worked great. Exactly what I wanted - simple elegant key ring. The string part broke after 3yrs - I guess sturdier than I thought for a thin looking string but definitely if you’re wanting something that won’t break at all, consider something else. For what it’s worth, I bought it again to “re-up” for another 3yrs :)

Fits the new Model 3 key perfectly. Just remove the battery cover and loop the thread in the spot for it. Took about 5 seconds to install. Tesla should really have included this with the key, but at least this product exists for cheap.

Rope snapped in less than a year. Almost lost my keys because of it. Not durable at all.

I'm pretty sure the other person who reviewed this didn't read the car owner's manual. The instructions for installing these are crystal clear. I already suspected that was the case and now I confirmed it. It not only fits perfectly, it looks really good.

Installation was easy, although I wish the vendor had included instructions. Installation is accomplished by opening the Tesla key fob (as in changing the battery) and attaching the small eye to the internal "post" inside the fob casing.
