I've been working on a fancy crochet blanket to give as a gift so I got this set of blocking squares. I've got several pieces pinned to squares right now and they are working out great. There are lines printed on each block to help line up the edges so they are straight, which is a huge help to me as I tend to get things cockeyed. The squares seem well made and snap together securely--I even moved a large piece made up of 4 blocks from the set and they stayed locked together while I shifted it from one table to another. I feel pretty secure, therefore, about how well they will hold up, and they are nice and thick so Idon't worry about jabbing the pins into a table. They came in a plastic carrying case with a handle. The case is light and easy to carry, but I am a little wary that the case may not last a really long time. But I've had it for a while now and it's still working, so I may be worried over nothing. Anyway, the squares themselves are well made and work very well, so I'm really happy with them.

I knit a lot of lace and blocking is mandatory. I have a large folding blocking board but I find the connecting boards with grids more versatile and useful. These are the best I have tried. The grid is clear, the squares fit together well *and* these boards are thicker than most. I like that the pins won’t go through and the boards are substantial enough to hold their shape when carried or placed to dry. Very pleased with these, also included blocking pins.

I used these wonderful blocking Puzzle shaped pieces to block a sweater jacket. It worked wonderfully and breaks down easily to store in the plastic zipper bag in which it was shipped. All the pieces of the blocking boards fit together perfectly. The included pins held the pieces firmly in place as I used a damp towel and steam iron to block each of the sweater pieces.

Disappointingly (because it makes me doubt all amazon reviews), some reviewers here said they didn't smell at all so I felt obligated to testify that indeed they do. It's not horrible/unbearable for me but could be for someone more sensitive. If it were summer I would have let these sit on a sunny porch for at least a few days before using but it's cold and rainy and I had a sweater to block that I finished weeks ago so I just went ahead and used them and now my sweater smells gross too. I'm not confident that there are any that wouldn't smell so I'm keeping and happy with them otherwise. They are white and not some ugly color. The nine squares fit together just fine, the t-pins come in a nice little clear plastic case, and there is a (also smelly) clear plastic case for storing them. All very convenient, utilitarian, and pleasing...apart from the smell, which hopefully will eventually go away.

These mats are perfect for blocking a very long, asymmetrical scarf. I like that they can be arranged to work with the dimensions of the scarf. On the plus side, they are very thick and dense so they hold the blocking pins well. And the grid lines will be useful when blocking other projects. The grid lines make it easy to keep edges straight. And the extra T-pins that are included are always helpful to have on hand. When I had a question about the item, UMIEN customer service was superlative. Oh, and I am now using my third set of these blocking mats (when I need to block large shawls and blankets) without ever detecting any odor from them.

This is a good thick mat that’s easily put together. Follow another reviewers tip to line up blocks top to bottom & left to right as you take them out. They are 1” blocks & had no odor at all, contrary to other reviews. I’m very pleased with it. There were more T pins than advertised & only one was bent. Would buy again

These mats are nice and thick, and the pins are good and sharp. The grid lines are most helpful. I like that the mats (I bought two sets) come with a handy zippered case so they can be stored neatly and kept dust free. These mats made the whole blocking process much less tedious, and I’m so glad I got them.

The blocking squares worked exactly as advertised. This set had nine squares and 100 T-pins. Maybe I could’ve used 5 more squares, but I was able to block the three pieces of this sweater and it worked just fine. A larger sweater and I will need to get more pieces. The price was excellent. Recommended.
