Oatey Dam Corners

Used for the installation of a new shower pan where the curb had an outside corner and two other corners, each of which was against a single wall. Given the configuration of the pan, it was necessary to slit the liner down to top of the curb in order to fold it over the curb. These dams covered the split where it folds over the top of the curb.Our contractor was really pleased with these. We were able to rotate them in several different directions depending on which way the corner faced, or whether it was an outside corner.Really gave us peace of mind to see the corners of the pan secured and waterproofed in this completely seamless manner. The material is sturdy and firm. Extremely easy to work with.Could not find them anywhere else. Got these from Amazon in just a couple of days. Worked out perfectly for us.

This took 1 and a half week to get which equals FOREVER! It is a corner and is decently oversized for use. Cannot use it unless you have a saddle which coincides at X-Y-Z axis. Else it is will not work. Remember, it is NOT an L and cannot be cut or used as an L either. You can make an L with the pan liner excess strip that you cut off along with the Oatey X-15 PVC Bonding Adhesive. And you layer another strip and you are there without the hassle of waiting for this product that anyways has very limited use. You also cannot use it in the recessed niche on the inside corner (where you will still need to make your own L) - you can only use it on the outside edge of any recessed niche. Which then leads me to echo what has been said here before - I agree fully that this is quite an unnecessary purchase for the most part. Poor service, timing of delivery and very limited usage = I wouldn't bother with it for my next project.

If you elect to replace your shower pan, this product is a must! It is good insurance that corners will not leak if installed properly. I suggest before applying adhesive, that you lightly sand both surfaces, the Dam Corner and Pan Liner. Be sure to use the right adhesive!

I'm a freak about making sure my corners will not leak in any shower I build so I got these. They are easy to put in and add that extra water protection you need at the corners of the curb.

This was the first time I installed a shower pan and wanted it to last without trouble for the next 50 years.Using these Dam Corners gave me the added assurance there was a good deal at the dam without causing very awkward overlapping of the pan material at the top corner of the dam.

I think I figured out where the name for these things came from. I couldn’t get these to work for me, so they ended up in the trash. I’m waterproofing the Durock anyways...I’ll just make sure to take it all the way to the edge of the curb.
