The Kitchen Table Book: 1,427 Kitchen Cures and Pantry Potions for Just About Every Health and Household Problem Review: Needed knowledge - Just a quick note about this book, 'The Kitchen Table Book'. I'm one who grew up with a grandmother, that was raised in the country and in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Dr's were either not available or came at a premium. Hence, a lot of 'cures' came from home remedies and basic nutrition. This book shows in detail the benefits from the foods and spices we normally consume. It fits very well with what my grandmother was raised with and what she imparted to us along the way. It is the kind of book that should be on every kitchen table and followed as to daily nutrition. By utilizing the knowledge found in these pages, one should be able to reduce the need for doctor visits, with the exception of catastrophic events. By understanding the health benefits for the various foods, most people should be able to maintain good health without the use of supplements and multiple, doctor-prescribed medications. This book is a great guide towards that goal. Review: good - excellent

Lots of INFO
So far I have been scanning this book and it has some really good answers. It also has recipes and hints for doing things with food that are helpful. It is like an encyclopedia on food and vitamins. I think it was well worth the cost.

A great kitchen table read
This book will stay on my kitchen table permanently because I've been discovering so much good information inside its pages. I especially like reading about herbal remedies for various conditions, but there are many more topics to discover, all easy to read. Highly recommended.

Drugs No More
This book has so many interesting and informative uses for household/natural items to help you. It is just too bad that anything natural seems to need a disclaimer because it is not a medically approved cure (FDA). Chemicals were not meant to cure anything. The author lists studies done by Big Pharma to indicate why a natural method may not work. Personally I wish we could all use what we have instead of spending a fortune on medical items which all have the potential for horrendous side effects. My personal favorite side effects are constipation, diarrhea, and death. I am not thrilled with any of them!! This book has many wonderful ideas for you and your family. If you leave it on a table, your guests will want to read it.

Strange things
Some things CS are good to try I this book, but unfortunately it will fool the gullible. I bought this for my mother-in-law because she asked for it. I’m not sure it’s a good book for someone who believes everything she reads.

Great Source~for getting healthy!
Keeping this book near the kitchen and my spot at the table. Like the format. It is easy to look up what you need. Also, easy to section out a part, so that you find what you need to know at the moment. Good typeface and spacing so never too intense. And a reallly good index. My latest reference to the food I eat.

This book is filled with ways to save money and use everyday ingredients
I really like this book. It is filled with every day household items being used in unique ways. Prices for every thing seem so high these days, I thought I would try the book and save a few dollars. The section for the use of honey has some excellent suggestions and the ones used were successful. This section is not for children, only adults. I have rosacea and found from the book that oatmeal is a natural treatment. I feel I will save the price of the book many times over and in the process use safer and less harsh ingredients.
