Great little ice maker
We have had our ice maker for a little over a week and we love it. We have wanted one for our pantry because we use a lot of ice at our home. We love that it is portable. We love to go camping but have limited freezer space in our travel trailer. This fun little icemaker will be perfect to take with us on the road and provide nice nugget ice for our drinks etc. We have been super impressed with the craftsmanship of this product. Its durable, makes ice quickly [around 7 minutes to make a batch], easy to clean and maintain. It also runs quiet. More quiet than a dishwasher. Hardly notice it. Highly recommend this product.

Inaccurate description of ice style
I recently purchased this ice maker because it states in its description that it can make nugget style ice cubes but that is not the case, it makes bullet style ice. While it does make ice, it does not make the ice it describes and I specifically bought this ice maker for the nugget ice cubes. You must pay close attention to the description and dig deeper into the Q&A section to be able to identify that it does not make nugget ice cubes. The primary picture shows ice cubes in the champagne bucket and it is a deceptive method by the third party seller to gain your business. There is no way to contact the seller for a return or refund but Amazon graciously gave us a discount on the product. I would not recommend this product due to its inaccurate description.

Makes lots of ice quickly.
Works great and produces lots of ice. Removable basket makes bagging ice for a party very easy. 3 month update: Ice maker is still going strong and with weekly water changes and a cleaning every 2 weeks it's made lots of perfect ice. August 16, 2020 Update. Still running perfectly with no capacity loss. Had to open machine to clean the fan, condenser coil, sensors, and re apply new metal tape to the fan shroud. Just like anything mechanical, it does require some maintenance. Well, it broke the tray that dumps the ice and holds the water for making the cubes. Seems the motor turned too far in one direction and snapped off the end of the tray. It's a shame because everything else still works and I can't find replacement parts. The tray motor limit switches are really cheap and I think they caused the failure.

Does NOT make 50 lbs in a day as claimed
It is a great ice maker. However, it does not make the 50 pounds claimed per day. If you immediately empty the ice and place it into the freezer, and weigh it after 24 hours, you MIGHT have 20 pounds. It works great though. Makes nice ice, and is simple to operate. Have to keep an eye on it to empty it before the ice starts to melt, and is labor intensive in this respect. Also need to remember to keep the water level up. I have been using it for about a month now and I love it. Much easier than running to the store or using trays in the freezer. Very quiet operation. Must place it on a counter or a lower level tabel. Have to be able to see clearly into the top when you operate it or fill the water.

Works okay
Love the cube size. My wife is an avid ice chewer and can't get enough ice. Love how fast it makes the ice. However, I will stop working periodically and makes really small cubes. Have to turn it off, drain everything and then start it back up. It doesn't keep the ice cold enough, so the ice melts and recycles itself.

No more running out to buy ice!
We love our Gladwell portable ice maker machine. We are boaters and we also frequently have others at our house for drinks or dinner. We can bag ice ahead for boating to put in our cooler, and also if we plan on having company that night. Once the company arrives, we can keep making ice and it will keep making at a speed that keeps up with drinks for 5-10 people. We were amazed when we first plugged it in that it started dropping ice within 7-10 minutes! The ice is nice and doesn't have a funny taste or smell as ice from some machines do. (We use filtered water from our refrigerator to make the ice.) The controls on top easily let you know if it is out of water or if the ice bin is full. If you leave ice in the bin, it will eventually melt - but it just goes back in the water well and makes ice out of it again. We keep the machine on the countertop in our laundry room, and it is so quiet we don't even notice it. (We also bought some 10 pound ice bags on Amazon which makes it easy to store the ice in larger quantities, and it is cheaper and more convenient than using freezer baggies. ) We have been very pleased that we made this purchase.

LOW Capacity & SHORT Life
I own several Ice Makers (26#/Day IHOME & 48#/Day NEWAIR): The Gladwell is essentially a 24#/Day (actual mesaured capacity) repackaged in a larger housing. It only makes NINE pieces per cycle, all the equivalent size of SMALL in the others. Time for a batch is about the same for all units, but the 48#/Day unit makes TWELVE ***LARGE*** pieces per cycle. Additionally this GLADWELL completely failed in 2-Months use, dropping plastic shards into the water bin.

Great Ice maker for parties
This is a great ice maker at a great price. I love that it makes ice so quickly. You fill the tank up with water and it literally makes a ton - MUCH faster than dealing with ice cube trays. When you are finished there's a small drain in the back that you open to drain any excess water and wipe down the inside to dry it off and you are done. This is totally trivial but I also love the shape of the ice it makes too, and that they don't stick together so it's not impossible to scoop out just a few cubes for a drink.
