Early Spring in a bottle
This will sound terrible but when I was a child in the 70s and early 80s, toilet paper was scented. It was a soft, powdery, floral scent. Comparable to dryer sheets of today. Cabotine reminds me of that scent but with musk and citrus notes. It's a sweet, powdery, musky floral that many would call old-fashioned or for a grandma. Older women will likely get a sense of nostalgia for the 70s smelling this little beauty. It's difficult to distinguish notes in this composition. Sometimes I'll pick up a bit of cedar then a hint of ginger. Honestly, the blend is quite nice. For such a soft scent it's strong and long lasting. It borders on being too sweet but is held back because of the civet and more bitter notes. It has nothing on today's fruity, bakery gourmands though. The price is ridiculously low. If you are into vintage, powdery scents then this would be one to try. It's very much a Spring fragrance and IMO, captures a dewy, sunny, spring morning in a bottle.

My all time fave!
I first bought this back in the mid 90’s. It was in a little miniature bottle set. Gutted that after i had used it I couldn’t find it again until a holiday in Tenerife. Again back in the Uk I couldn’t get any then I found it on here. It’s my all time favourite and I think I’m going to get the Rose to. If you like something a little different then Cabotine De Gres is for you. The aroma is addictive. Brilliant price to!
