This rain stick is only 15 inches long. It produces a beautiful rain trickling sound, but it is not loud. I would recommend a 30 to 40 inch long rain stick that would have a longer sustained trickle for use by a teacher in the classroom to get attention. Thank you!

How long does rain sound last?

We agree with prior responses, and would reiterate from the description: "15" length, 1.5-2" diameter. Small size good for a few seconds of rain-trickle when played correctly." If you tip it at an angle (not straight up and down) and slowly rotate, the trickle lasts longer. Even so, with the 15" length it is not possible to get a long sustain. If you really want to hear a sustained rain trickle sound, you need to get 40", 50", or 60" length. Thank you!

Is the sealant used on the rain stick toxic?

I don't know but I have had some leakage out the ends. I've applied clear glue which seems to have taken care of the problem.
