A great robotics development platform!
I loved everything about this kit. Please realize before you buy that this is not a robot toy; this is a robotics platform for Arduino or Raspberry Pi. I would not recommend this as a starting place in robotics or programming. No one is going to hold your hand here. But if you need a tracked vehicle with all the basic sensors to experiment with, this is the kit to buy! I'm an engineer so I loved the assembly part of it. Lots of pieces and good assembly instructions. The Yahboom website has the basic documentation and software to get the robot up and running with examples on using the sensors. It really was simple to go from a default install of Raspbian to having the tank rolling across the floor. One thing I always like to check before making any recommendations is the ease of working with customer service. I had a motor with a broken wire, a servo with stripped gears, and a standoff that was threaded incorrectly. Those motor wires are flimsy so be careful handling them, that servo failure is most likely my fault, and the standoff was no big deal I just wanted to see how hard it would be to get replacements. I emailed Yahboom's support and all they asked for was a picture of the broken parts. After I sent that they mailed me the parts. It was that simple. What a great company to work with and so highly recommended by me.

Do not buy if you want headaches
I really really wanted to like this product. I was excited and got it all assembled. The plastic pieces are pretty delicate so one of the pieces broke so I couldn't complete the assembly. I requested a replacement. Got the replacement and got the tank assembled. Downloaded the image from the Yahboom site multiple times and could not get it to work with my Raspberry Pi 4. I was on the text support with Amazon and they were not able to resolve my issue and referred me directly to Yahboom. This is where things went downhill. This is a China made product and the support is in China. They had me connect through WhatsApp. I tried to get them to communicate through the Amazon portal but they refused to do that. To finally connect with them, it took at least 2 weeks before I actually got someone. I finally told them that I have a 9 hour work day and also am a full time student so time is limited for me. I got home at 7pm and was on with China tech till 10pm. The remoted into my computer and did the same thing that I did 5 times before, downloading the image from their site and burning the image to the disk. They had me try to launch their image but it would not load. They even did a file transfer from their end to my computer and that image did not work either. I finally told them I have to go to bed and just to send me an image on disk. This was 1/5/22 when they agreed to send me the disk with their image. It finally came yesterday, 1/27/2022. I was hoping that it worked but nope. Same thing. Doesn't launch and doesn't connect with the phone app. I have another disk that loads the Raspberry Pi OS and it works perfectly so it's not the Pi. All they kept asking me to do while we were on the chat to: [10:08 PM, 1/4/2022] *******: I really have to go to bed now. [10:08 PM, 1/4/2022] *******: Can you send me the tf card with the image [10:09 PM, 1/4/2022] Yahboom- DolphinZhang: Ok. Ok [10:09 PM, 1/4/2022] Yahboom- DolphinZhang: After we send TF card, could you give us 5-star [10:10 PM, 1/4/2022] Yahboom- DolphinZhang: I have closed team views [10:10 PM, 1/4/2022] Yahboom- DolphinZhang: And we will arrange TF card to you [10:11 PM, 1/4/2022] *******: thank you. Once everything works fine then I'll do that. [10:11 PM, 1/4/2022] *******: As of now, tired and not happy with my experience [10:11 PM, 1/4/2022] *******: Thanks for your help Very disappointed with this company and product. The big issue is that they do not speak English well and it seems like it's only 1 person doing the tech support. They were not able to resolve the issue and I don't get a sense that they care about their customers but just care about selling a bunch of machines and seeing which one sticks.

Sturdy build and great hobby kit
This kit was definitely tricky to assemble - there are lots of little screws and parts. So keep a close inventory when you build it. I will say that for a hobby unit this thing rocks. They provide a plethora of documentation on their website with plenty of schematics and code snippets. I wrote my own server and didn't use theirs however. As mentioned, the raspberry pi is NOT included, but this kit can fit an Arduino, RPi, and some other microcontrollers, which is really great. Super "hacker" friendly. One of my tracks was too tight and required replacement. I will say that Yahboom's customer service was AMAZING and express shipped replacement tracks within two business days which was great. Overall this is a fun little unit, great for the price, super customizable, and great for intermediate/advanced hackers/hobbyists.

A nice project
This was a nice project and I plan to learn more about the program. The build instructions were a little hard for me to follow. But there is a very good youtube build video that made the assembly process easy. There are a few things that I didn't find covered in any of the instructions or youtube. I don't normally load compressed files into my Android tablet. So the rar file that you download into your Android device will need a program to decompress the file. Also the operating system that you have to load into the raspberry pi card has to be loaded on to a memory card. You will need to use a program to load this onto the card, it is not a copy and past process.

Pretty easy to build and the software worked the first try
I'm impressed that the software worked on the very first try. This was a pretty fun build although a bit tricky at some points for those with bigger fingers. Fun little weekend project that comes with extra parts in case you lose some (which I did). Highly recommend. Pretty decent price as well! The treads could be better though; both the material and the way they attach to the body. Mine kept slipping off even after tightening the nuts that hold it together.

Poor quality
I have purchased this kit and it look very good quality with a lot of good review but when it arrived and try to assembly I have couple issue. The first package arrived I found there is a lot of things missing and amazon send me a replacement but the second package arrived I feel great. I can assembly this now but when I get to the 5th steps the thing doesn't aline how can I keep going. At first I feel it's my problem I installed incorrect so I checked couple times and it's still doesn't aline. I won't order from this seller anymore. I hope other buyer rethink buying from this seller due to their quality is very bad.

Bring your own screws and tools
Background: I stumbled across this on sale for ~$130 and figured I could use yet another project. I have a good bit of experience with using Python and Pis to have some fun so this seemed to be a good fit. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BUYING THIS: As others have said the hardware included with this is terrible and loosens over time due to being counter sunk screws in non-countersunk holes. I have a small parts list below of screws and nuts that you'll need for assembly. Assembly: Simply put the instructions are... a bit lackluster. The videos on Yahboom's site helped but they are fast forwarded and a bit of a pain to follow. Instead I gave each 3-5 minute video a couple watches while looking over the instructions. Assembly took 2 hours and most of that was trying to build the extremely fiddly camera gimbal. I tried to get the protective paper off of the acrylic but quickly gave up. Once I got the camera gimbal built the rest of the kit was a breeze in comparison. A bit difficult as the instructions say to install the servo wires after you mount the bottom frame which required some tweezer finesse. I suggest having the following on hand for assembly: - A good Phillips head set for the non-crap screws in the kit. - A decent set of tweezers. - Calipers to measure parts (No part bags are labeled) - A set of the following machine screws: --m3 nuts ~10 --m3x5 screws ~6 --m3x8 screws ~50 --m2 nuts ~4 --m2x6 screws ~6 Using it: I was able to load a generic 32bit Raspberry Pi OS image to my Pi and use the example Python code on Yahboom's website to get up and running. The code is only example quality so I used it as a guide. After a few hours I had the tank being moved around via key presses in a SSH session to the Pi. After a couple hours more tinkering I have some mjpeg feeds from the included webcam and secondary USB webcam. I was very happy to find that everything worked out of the box with a stock Raspberry Pi OS image and I didn't have to with Yahboom's image. Final Verdict: This is awesome if you are an adult or late teen who is comfortable with Raspberry Pis, Linux, and Python. This is NOT A TOY and you will be very disappointed if that's what you expect. If it came with the right hardware I would have given it 4 stars.

Not a beginner’s kit, lots of I/O, quality parts. Great if you want to try RPi robotics
I have researched different kits for a long time and find this kit the best flexibility for the price. It has a controller board that supports many servos, four motors (this “tank” only use two), and various analog and digital inputs. The assembly instructions are technically correct but it will take a lot of care to make sure you are assembling it correctly. Particularly you need to understand the screw and nut sizing specification, double, or better yet triple check before you use them. The parts are reasonably grouped together with the portion of the machine, so try not to open everything at the same time. I find fitting the track over the wheels the hardest part of the assembly. I did not use the supplied software — there is a link to a google drive that has a lot of documentation and software. Since I know RaspberryPi and Python quite well, I am writing my own software and only use theirs as a reference, to find out the correct port and PIN numbers. Overall this is a great fun kit that will bring weeks of fun. But this is certainly not a beginner’s kit. I will update this with more videos and instructions as I started to use the “tank”.

Tank
Man braucht das Raspberry Pi Board, also gleich mitbestellen. Die Software die man auf die SD Karte spielt, wird dann unten in das PI board gesteckt. Super WhatsApp hilfe

Wow!
I was a little sceptical of this product from reading other reviews. I don’t have a lot of experience with stuff like this but learn best from hands on. I am super impressed! Great quality. Fast shipping. Well packaged. By the next day I had it up and running! So happy!
