This toy is pretty good! The thing is it doesn’t fully form into a ball but that’s fine because it still mostly forms into a ball and my son loves it.

My 7 year old wanted one for her 8th Birthday coming up, I have seen these exact things at my local Walmart for 9$ but I looked on amazon for a red and yellow one being they're her favorite colors, was okay with spending the extra to get the red and yellow combo being they’re my daughters favorite, but when received the color was actually red and blue, again not like the picture advertising the product and the colors were the only reason I was okay with spending the extra on this, could’ve just went to Walmart and got the same thing a lot cheaper. Disappointing. But hopefully she’ll look past it and enjoy it when she gets it for her Birthday.

We purchased (2) as Easter gifts and were very excited to try them with the grandkids, based on the video. To transform from ball to throwing disc, two suction cups stick together. My guess is that they should release after thrown, but after multiple throws the disc's suction cups did not release and change into a ball. The only time(s) the Phlat Ball changed to a ball was when it hit the ground. It is too late to return since it was purchased early as a gift, so please consider this purchase carefully as the design is flawed. (2) suction cups stuck together does not guarantee when the bond will release. As an adult, I threw the Phlat Ball high in the sky and it landed the same way it was thrown. Not recommended to purchase.

The ball stays suction cupped in the flat position long enough to be thrown and then the pressure of impact breaks the suction. This is our second ball. The first one was bought at the drugstore and lasted a day before a silicone part tore and interfered with keeping the hard plastic part in place. Hopefully that was an isolated malfunction of the toy because this new one has held up and for several months so far.

I bought this for my grandson's fifth birthday. He had seen it advertised on cartoon tv and wanted it so bad. He unwrapped it and we began reading about it. It has to be warm weather for it to work.. It is April in Missouri and even though the sun was warm today the air was chilly. The ball became round but then it would not flatten again. It has a large suction cup in the middle that will only work when they are very warm. So here we are with a birthday gift that will not work. The child is so disappointed.. Lucky for me, I had bought other gifts. I would not recommend this to anyone that lives outside a very warm climate. It is not worth it. It is conditional and they do not tell you the limitations of the toy. Do not waste your money.
