I watch my 7 month old great grand daughter 2 days a week and she is crawling every where. I needed a sturdy gate to protect her from falling down stairs. This was very easy to assemble. I had to use one of the two extensions that came with it. I did not need to screw the wall holders to the wall because the sticky backs on them worked great. The gate is very sturdy when up. The latch is easy enough for me to slide to lift the lock but difficult enough that I don't believe a toddler could because your hand has to be able to go over the top to pull it back. The bonus is that when the baby isn't here I can remove the gate. Also the price didn't break me.

This gate is great. I bought it for the top of my stairs to prevent my dog going up & down after leg surgery. This gate is awesome! It was easy to assemble and install, it's easy to open and lock and can hold back a 95lb dog when grandma comes over with cookies in her pockets! We've continued to keep it up well after she has heeled. There is also 2 plastic prongs on the bottom that you can turn down for added security. Great gate and quality for the price, easy to assemble and it comes with the wall mount cups so you don't have to purchase the separately.

These gates are pretty good until you get to the upper limit of the measurements with multiple add on sections, they start to get a bit wobbly due to the play each section adds. If you would like to save some money don't strictly follow their sizing chart. The latest opening I need to span is 53.2". Their chart calls for the gate plus their 4 bar and 2 2bar extensions. The 4 bar and 2 bar extensions are similar in price 23 for 2 bar and 28 for a 4 bar. What the chart is doing is upselling 2 of the 2 bars instead of simply 1 4 bars. Here is the sizing you should follow. Gate it's self is the range from 29.8 - 32.6. The 1 bar ads 2.7" to this range each, the 2 bar ads 5.5" to this range each, and the 4 bar adds 11" to this range for each added. So in my example if I follow their chart I would spend a little over $75 for add on pieces but if I go off the measurements for each bar set using the largest sections that will fit my measurement range (which ends up being more secure and less wobbly due to less connecting pieces) I would be buying 2 4 bar sections for $56 and saving myself right at $20. I understand making more money but don't fall for it folks. As I said great gates, have had them in 3 homes now and for many years for our kids now we are using them for the dog and they work fantastic still. Worth the money since they are not even the most expensive out there. Walk through gate is good size for an adult, locking mechanism is good and makes good fun out of fooling even some adults in its operation. Took my children till around 3-4 to figure it out only after being showed several times. Sturdy for the most part see above. It is also nice that you are able to buy add on and replacement parts for these after all these years.

Love this gate. The opening is nice and wide. Purchased specifically for the reason. For my purposes it is used to keep the dog out of certain rooms. It’s easy to use and swings both ways. It does not self close, so that is something to be aware of. Would definitely recommend and purchase again.

Fabulous easy installation. I bought 2 after reading every review on here for the different ones. I liked the sturdy metal construction and the ease with which it operates. The little foot on the bottom of the gate can flip on either side downward to make the swing of the gate the way you need it to be. I used the extension on one and it was very easy to assemble. Directions and pictures were good. I do not have aggressive dogs so I didn't need to screw it to the wall I just used the pressure feet. The handle will not engage in lock until you put the tension on the wall then you'll see the handle engage with the gate and the little black button in the center pulls back to lift the handle up. That wasn't real clear in the direction so I had to. figure that out. lol

I LOVE THIS GATE. I was having such a hard time finding a gate for the stairs that was sturdy enough. This one is very well made and is so sturdy even with the extensions being used! I also feel like it has a wider opening to walk through than other gates I’ve tried. Only thing I had trouble with was getting the caps out to add the extension pieces. I had to use a flathead and it was still pretty difficult. I had also purchased some of those cups to protect the wall and to make it more sturdy but they didn’t work because the pressure pads on this gate are more rectangle than circle like most gates. But it worked out and I didn’t need those anyway. So happy I found this gate!

I bought two of these gates to keep my sister's dogs out of the living room when she comes to visit. They look nice in the doorways and seem very sturdy. I did have some trouble with the instructions though. I couldn't figure out from the paper instructions what they were telling me to do. I ended up on YouTube and quickly found a video showing a lady putting one together, and I was able to do it from that. On one of the gates I needed to use both extensions that came with it because one doorway is wider than the other. So if you have trouble with the instructions too, check out YouTube. I like these gates and am very glad I purchased them.
