We took the world's best auger and made it better. The redesigned ION x is built for extra holes and increased precision. A 40V 5 amp-hour XC5 battery increases Charge capacity by over 60%, so whether drilling new holes or re-drilling frozen-over old ones, you'll have the power to cut through more ice than ever before. ION X's innovative cast bottom with centering point cuts smoothly and accurately with ease. Review: Amazing auger - Going from a hand auger to the ION X 8โ auger is night and day. The ability for this auger to cut clean holes without a lip at the bottom of the hole is something that makes this even better. It is quiet too. After drilling close to 100 holes over six outings this auger has not slowed down and still cuts clean and fast as the first hole. As for battery life, I have only charged it once before the first trip and it still has 2/3 battery left. The reverse feature work great for flushing out the hole after cutting. I can drill a hole and reverse the slush right down and have a clear hole ready to fish without ever having to grab an ice scoop. If you buy the ION X, you will not be disappointed. Review: JJ 5 - I've used Jiffys my whole life with over 50years experience on the ice in every condition you can think of. Wow this auger is the only way to go. Talk about drilling a hole through the ice with ease. I use the 8in and I have not one complaint. The Average thicknesses of ice on the lakes I fish is 24in or better and it has Plenty of battery life for most to find fish. Unless your running around looking for the big school drilling hundreds of holes across and back and forth the lake all day then you might want to get two batterys. Quite, light weight and no gas smell on you or in the ice shack. I'll never go back to a gas auger. If I had to ? Yes It would definitely be the Good Ol'School Jiffy.

... my x8 3weeks ago and I think it's the best auger ever made
Hello I just got my x8 3weeks ago and I think it's the best auger ever made. I've had strikemaster gas jiffy propane and my brother has the new strikemaster electric and by far I think this is the best hands down. I charged it fully and took it out several times at about 1500 plus inches later the battery had finally died out! I have about 7 inches here in southern Michigan. On the review on the clogging up on the bottom. Yes it will like any other auger when it's below zero. I guarantee this is why. Mine did the first time this past weekend with below weather. Normal for my past 25 years of ice fishing. I would recommend this to anyone looking for light weight, quiet and quick fishing with no worries. Also the reverse in cold weather when in the water will help kick off slush on those cold days and won't have as much issue! Marcellus Mike

This auger works
I have used this ice auger several times and never had any problems. The instructions say to charge the battery every time you go out, but I've used it three times without a recharge. Possibly I don't drill enough holes, but as my daughter says, "if you're catching fish, why move to another hole. The best aspect is the final punch through the ice, it's very smooth. My daughter's husband went out and bought the same auger after using mine. I would recommend this tool for anyone who enjoys ice fishing.

easy operation, lighter wieght
love this auger! no more gas, lighter weight. the reason i gave 4 stars is my fault as there is a huge difference between the 8" and the 10" augers. the 10" i bought is much harder to control and requires a lot more brute strength to cut a hole also the battery wears down drastically faster cutting 10". with the 8" auger the battery lasted all day and drilled the holes 5 times faster than the 10". In summary i am extremely happy with this auger and how it works but for ease of use and duration of battery life i would never get the 10" auger.

This unit is unbelievable! I have been using it for two winters and it works great. I have drilled as many as 20 holes and still have enough battery to keep going. I live in Upper Michigan where the ice is thick. No more finicky gas augers to mess with or gas odor on my hands and gloves. Good for me, and good for the environment. I received it at a good price and very promptly from Amazon.

Awesome, Clean, and Easy to Use
I will never be returning to gas augers. This is just as powerful as a gas auger and much lighter and cleaner. I canโt recommend this more highly.

Beautiful auger
These are great augers. Plenty of power and battery life for drilling a lot of holes between charges. The reverse button seems a little misplaced as I accidentally hit it occasionally while drilling, but no big deal.

Excellent battery operated auger makes perfect 10" holes inside tent. Highly recommended!
Love this auger. Battery lasts a long time and cuts efficiently and quietly making nice clean 10" holes. Can be operated inside the tent (light display on hole is great feature) so you know exactly where the holes are in the tent. Very happy with this purchase

This auger is fantastic- 4 feet of ice and it plows right through it. For a 5 amp all I needed.

Awesome !!
Electric is the way to go ! Batteries a bit expensive but convenience makes gas augers obsolete!

Pull the trigger youโll never dread moving ever again.
Great purchase the 10โ drills a nice clean hole no problem I used it all weekend without a recharge I did purchase the battery bag and put hot pockets inside when not in use to keep the battery warm. It even drills out old holes no problem.

Cost
Itโs nice but $100.00 more than buying direct from Cabellas.
