Power Grid Recharged

This game was a hit over Christmas! I bought it for a power distribution electrical engineer and the whole family enjoyed it. Even a former power finance guy who hates games had a good time! The rest of us had no relation to power and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Reading through all the rules and understanding it fully was a bit of a challenge initially, but once we got going, it was extremely fun and competitive. I loved that it wasn't a game where people are miserable that are losing significantly; they were still enjoying it and going for the win. It is a time consuming game though, so make sure you have several hours for it. Of course that depends on the size of the group also. We played it wil 6 players and it took about 2.5 hours. The best way to describe it is Monopoly meets power distribution. If there is someone in your life that works with power and energy, they're sure to love it!

Game play has been updated with this version to level the playing field and has made the game even more interesting.

Bought the game last week and used it for a game night over the weekend. The game board and pieces are all well-built and does not feel flimsy or cheap. The game is relatively easy to learn if you take your time. It's not a quick read of the directions and then off you go. We slowed down and went over the rules and then again over each step as we played. Was a lot of fun and the time passed quickly.

Engaging and thought provoking strategy game. Takes time to play, so make sure you have 90-120 minutes to best enjoy it

This game is great. We played it once and ordered it as soon as I got my next check. Just opened it up for date/ game night in.... No money in the box. Disappointed. Will buy the money separately since I can't return it. Update. We went directly to Rio Grande Games and filled out a form for the money. We got a reply in under 10 minutes at 10 PM on a Saturday. We should have the money in 10 business days!

It's a fun game involving deep strategy. It does a fantastic job simulating real economic principles. For modern board games, I'd say the complexity level is medium-high. Highly recommended.

This is a family favorite - in groups varying from ages 12 to 60, we have enjoyed playing Power Grid for years. This is a newer version than our old copy, and I'm buying it as a gift for a family that also enjoys board games.

Game is great; however, Amazon sent a game that was played a number of times and returned instead of a new game as indicated in the product details. Game was missing pieces, and the box was ripped in the corners.

Hands down one of the best board games I have ever played. Power grid is the openttd of board games. You go in with a bunch of friends and by the end everyone has separately pulled out a sheet of paper to try and calculate "if I buy coal for 8 and burn it for 12, I can't afford to run the oil cause I will only make 6 and while impaired 4 for it it is now worth 7". If you know an accountant who likes board games, play this with them.

Am erstens sah Funkenschlag sehr kompliziert aus. Man braucht eine Stunde (oder zwei?), um die Regeln (nich kompliziert, sondern lang) zu lesen und die erste zwei Runden zu spielen, und danach macht es viel Spaß und sieht einfach aus. Kann nur empfehlen!
