BUTUZE Leather Edge Paint Tool with 2 Brass Rollers, Essential Edge Printing Tool for Leather Craft DIY

This item is for people who are hobbyists making single piece, small leather goods. If you are painting less than 40", you are good. It is very small but it holds enough paint for those purposes. It applies paint quickly, efficiently, and evenly to edges. I don't understand how anyone could get mad at this. I used this for a passport wallet and it worked brilliantly. Just fill the reservoir, paint the edge, set the piece aside to dry, and in the meantime, pour the remaining paint back into to original bottle, and rinse the unit under the sink for a few seconds. It literally takes 40 seconds at most to both setup and clean this unit between coats. It is so much faster than using a brush or an awl, and more precise than a pen roller. There are larger units that do exactly the same thing for larger projects which cost a bit more, and then there are commercial units that cost over $1500 if you are doing bulk. It's $8 and it does exactly what it's supposed to.

So I've recently got into leathercraft and I've been painting the edges of my wallets with toothpicks, q-tips and the recommended needle rollers from my local Tandy shop. This product however..it applies the perfect amount of edge paint each time and was incredibly smooth when rolling the leather across it. Legitimately the best product I have received for leathercraft off Amazon. I wish it had a cover so I could leave left over paint in it without it drying up. That's my only complaint. This product is 10/10. I highly recommend to anyone that's looking at it.

Looks a lot better than it works.!!!! I still use a brush or sponge and find that works better.!!!!!

First off, it’s NOT brass at all! The “brass” color wore off after I cleaned it the second time I used it. Secondly, the inside of the box came very rough to the touch with noticeable deep scratches which made it harder to clean. Also the slots for the rollers were just as rough! I had to take a dremel tool and sand/polish it down and bring it to a very smooth, mirror polished surface. After I did that it works really well! Maybe I just got a bad one, I don’t know but it shouldn’t happen!!! You would probably be better off getting a different one or just go with the edge roller pen and or a small and semi stiff paint brush. So if you want to take the risk of getting a bad one and having to do what I did and sand a polish the whole thing to get it to work as designed then go ahead and buy it! If not, then find another option! Hope this helps! 👍

This is a great way to edge coat your raw edges on leather, vinyl, etc. And generally mess free! I had been using the hand tool where the tip rolls, but I was getting the paint everryywhereeee. This is much preferred and easy to use. It rolls smoothly and it has a hefty sturdy good quality feel to it.

Bought this to edge paint a small batch of leather keychains. Unfortunately, the machining is bad as the slots on the base for the roller were cut too deep causing the roller body to make contact with the bottom of the well. I cut out a pair of aluminum shims and glued them in the slots so the roller could properly roll. The rollers are also falsely advertised to be made of brass but they stick to a magnet. The base is most likely brass. Once I got it to work, it seems to do a better job compared to a roller pen.
