No, the bag isn't huge, but I think it's just right. If you want to be bag lady then go to one of those overpriced name brands and ask for one big enough to fit a small child. If you want streamlined, beautiful, and discreet this is the way to go. There is a zipper pocket just by the straps that I can easily unzip and reach into with one hand to get my train pass while carrying my bicycle over my other shoulder. There are also other hidden pockets once you unbuckle the flaps as well as inside. I live in a metropolitan area so I appreciate that there are no exposed compartments. Yes, straps are kind of long but you can bring the buckles over the zipper and it doesn't interrupt the aesthetic too much in my opinion. Definitely a design improvement note, though. Would buy again, getting one for my sister in brown.

Very disappointing gift I received this bag in red as a present for my October birthday. It has endured normal wear; I can’t stuff it full of heavy things because it won’t close. In December I noticed it was showing lots of scratches. The leather doesn’t seem to be great quality. I was prepared to live with that little bit of “character” but in the last few weeks I noticed the large back pocket zipper coming unsewn – in multiple places. This has been a VERY big disappointment. Too much money for this level of quality.

I bought this bag to replace a similar-looking leather bag I've had for years. It seems well-made and is certainly spacious when unclipped, however if you want to use it so it looks like this picture then you have to fold it up. Once folded there's not much room inside. Also it's difficult to fold, and folding or unfolding single-handed (e.g. while holding your money purse in the other hand) seems impossible. They'd have done better to think harder about where and how people will actually want to use the bag - then they may have made it practical as well as attractive. Also there's no really convenient phone compartment. You can either zip the phone into the outside pocket, which is OK but I prefer a holster style for the quick draw, or you can put it inside the bag - where there is a holster style holder. However if you use the holster-style holder inside the bag then you've got to grapple first with the clip to unfold the bag, then unzip the bag to get to the phone. Plus having the phone in the holder makes the bag even harder to fold. Finally, if you use the bag unfolded, which I do because of the above issues, then it doesn't hang very well. All the straps (2 back straps, one hand strap) are on one side, so whichever straps you use the bag ends up hanging lopsided. This not only looks ugly but puts a lot of strain on the attachment points of the straps, which I expect will cause them to fail quite quickly. If any of the designers read this - bags need to be practical as well as beautiful and durable please!

I have been looking for a travel backpack with style...this one is gorgeous and soft as butter! I did have to slide the straps past the zipper to make it snug enough, but it really wasn't an issue for me. Then I discovered if you unhooked each side and connected them to each other, it turns into a cross body bag. Security was also an issue for me...not only does this bag snap in front (corner to corner), but it also has a zipper all the way across the top.

I travel a lot and have decided while sightseeing or shopping a backpack purse would be more convenient, thus I ordered this backpack from Amazon. It is the size of a purse, but has the convenience of being a backpack. I am looking forward to using it on a month long road trip we have planned next month. The only con I see is that the leather is a bit hard, but hope that with time it will soften. I will add to this review after using it during our trip.

The leather is good but the brand name is misleading - it is not made in Italy. Very few items fit inside because otherwise it is difficult to close the latch. The cell phone pocket is too small for an iPhone - it is clearly for older phones. In short, the backpack is not practical. We are returning it.

Love this backpack! It is great for both work and weekends and is a great size (big enough to carry a small book and a few other things without being giant). You can use it a couple different ways both as a backpack or as one strap across the chest. This is also a very safe bag for traveling or public transportation because there is only one outside pocket (that rests against your back) that is immediately accessible when the buckle is fastened.

The bag is beautiful, but the clasp is difficult to press in order to open the bag, and when you unzip the handle to convert it into a backpack, anyone can come up behind you and slip something into your bag. These are features you do not want as you stand in line for security. I used it on one trip to FL where I bought a handmade bag for less with a snap clasp and secured zipper. It is beautiful, but it is not a good travel bag.
