With his fascinating photographic style, the French photographer and YouTube star, Serge Ramelli, shows us the changeable character of New York, this time in colour-bold neon signs, throbbing crowds on busy avenues, atmospheric sunrises over Manhattan, and surreal empty streets. In Serge Ramelli's photos, people are a secondary subject. What matters is the setting, the mood, the light, the environment. Typical elements and landmarks are shown as no one has quite seen before, except, perhaps, in a dream, or in a movie. In his unique and masterful way, Ramelli imbues a cinematic quality in the everyday. The viewer is spellbound by the suspense and suggestion of his images: what will happen next? Anyone familiar with Ramelli's black-and-white photographs of New York will marvel at the different sides of the city he captures in colour ― the luminosity of the yellow cabs and traffic lights and the interplay of natural and artificial light. Times Square, Broadway, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty ― everyone has a different, mostly romantic, association with the many icons of this storied city, perhaps inspired by a book, a movie, a song, or a visit. That poetic trace, and many more, are sure to be found in this photo tribute, which reveals both the treasured NYC hotspots and lesser-known corners of the metropolis. A beautiful New York photography book unfolding in Ramelli's characteristic cinematic style-now, at last, in colour. Text in English, German and French. Review: Great photos - I bought this book for my Son as he had been to visit New York last year after teaching at Camp America. He loved the quality of the photographs. Review: Stunning - Beautiful photography. It's also great for a display book, for interior design.

Disappointed
Bought for my daughter as a gift as she loves books on architecture and cities. Its a lovely size and itnitially she thought as she flipped through for a first quick look it,the photograhs looked amazing but on sitting down for a good read,it became apparent there are virtually no captions to the photos,so you have little idea what view you are looking at,aside form the obvious Statue of Liberty etc, also some captions actually incorrectly identify locations which we found an incredible error..how did this get past the publisher? It also became a trifle annoying that the views are so samey, taken from rooftops, just as if the camera has been moved just a little and the same view captured.... and dont start us on the orange filter....page after page of it!! A little more in the way of captions to help identify locations would have been useful and informative and the use of 3 languages per page when there was a caption was distracting. Some photos I have to say are beautiful but,if you are not familair with the city and know each and every landmark and area of the city, its just a big book of orange photos of office blocks! On the whole a big disapointment. Returned to Amazon for a refund.

Descriptions in three languages
Three languages. English. French. And German. Where ever there is writing to explain a picture it’s in three languages. Really spoilt as a result.

Beautiful photographs, but some important inaccuracies
The photography, which is of course the most important thing in a book like this, is absolutely wonderful and there's some brilliants shots of New York which is my absolute favourite place in the world. My familiarity with New York, born out of my near obsession with the place, does make some errors stick out like a sore thumb. There is a famous shot, for example, of the Manhattan Bridge through some buildings viewed north from Washington Street in Brooklyn. The book incorrectly refers to the Manhattan Bridge here as the Brooklyn Bridge, which is a separate bridge located across the park. It is little inaccuracies such as this that, while not impacting the beautiful photography, do a certain level of injustice to a book that would have been absolutely perfect were these errors avoided by slightly higher attention to detail in the annotation.

Regalo molto apprezzato
Molto apprezzato, fotografie fantastiche. Arrivato in brevissimo tempo.

Sehnsuchtsort New York
