Good Build Quality, Simple Setup, and does what it says
I felt the system was easy to setup and get running. The only items which weren't covered during the setup experience were the adjustments to motion sensors and selection of a monitoring plan. The motion sensors needed to be opened and adjusted during my install. Without the adjustment, the motion sensors appeared to not work. It was a simple change, just not mentioned in the setup wizard. The selection of a monitoring plan could be improved. You didn't get to choose which plan you wanted, nor was there any explanation of the different monitoring choices. I purchased the SimpliSafe solution to displace a Brink's System which required a long term contract and high monthly fees to work at all. I can blame myself for this, but I "thought" the SimpliSafe System was "fully" functional even without monitoring, but that's not entirely correct. If you choose no monitoring, it will still generate alarms and notify you, but the camera video storage is only accessible IF you have monitoring ... just like Ring products (only live viewing). If the video storage is important to you, then you'll need a monitoring subscription. Lastly, the base station is equipped with a SIM(module) and the base I received was pre-configured for Verizon. It just so happens in the rural area where I installed my system, Verizon coverage was insufficient and there's nothing in the App or on the base station which indicates that Cellular Backup isn't functional. Also, if you want to change to another carrier, they can accommodate that - but you have to disassemble your base station and remove/install a new LTE module ... not just a SIM. A sim slot behind a cover would have probably been more effective (or even better a global roaming SIM). All in all, great product, feels solid in your hands, the App is excellent, and the siren I added was shockingly loud. Only thing left for me to learn is the battery life. Since my system is installed in a vacation home, I suspect the lack of device event triggers will help the batteries last quite a long time.

sleeping good
I recently installed the SimpliSafe 12 Piece Wireless Home Security System w/HD Camera in my home, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the peace of mind it has provided. This system has significantly enhanced my sense of safety and security. Setting up the system was incredibly easy. The wireless components made installation a breeze, and the instructions were clear and straightforward. I had the entire system up and running in no time without needing professional assistance. The HD camera delivers excellent video quality, allowing me to monitor my home in real-time with crystal-clear images. The motion sensors are highly sensitive and immediately alert me to any unusual activity, ensuring that I’m always aware of what’s happening around my property. What I appreciate most about SimpliSafe is its reliability. The system has worked flawlessly since day one, and the mobile app provides seamless control and monitoring from anywhere. Whether I’m at home or away, I can check in on my property and receive instant notifications, which has greatly boosted my confidence in my home’s security. Overall, the SimpliSafe 12 Piece Wireless Home Security System w/HD Camera has exceeded my expectations. It’s user-friendly, highly effective, and offers comprehensive protection. If you’re looking for a reliable and easy-to-install home security system, I highly recommend SimpliSafe. It has made a tremendous difference in how safe I feel in my home.

Great Products and Support For Reasonable Price
THE POSITIVES: The system is easy to setup and telephone support was very patient and knowledgeable! Definitely a good investment for do-it-yourself at a reason price and no contracts! Monitoring fees are reasonable. Ultimately, the real test is if there is an intrusion or issue, are the authorities notified immediately by SimpliSafe? Hopefully we don’t have an occurrence whereby the authorities will need to be notified. THE NEGATIVES: If you have a large space, one base may not work for you. Simplisafe states up to 99 devices can be installed on one base. Thankfully, we only installed 25 devices which seems to work fine. According to Simplisafe, if more than one base is setup, there is a separate monitoring fee for each base. The base volume is adjustable but for our needs, we like a fairly loud volume; however, the Simplisafe base volume could be improved.

Easy install & set up. Controlled in phone app & at base station.
So far, happy with this system. NOTE: A wireless doorbell cam does not exist for this system. I have to use a different brand wireless doorbell cam with a separate app. I like the key fob controls. The base station light is a known issue, & will not turn off from the app - only from the control panel. But security wise, the sensors & alarms have been effectively, & monitoring service is responsive.

Some claims are misleading - 2yr Upate
There are a few things not mentioned here that you may want to know about before purchasing this system. 1) There are 2 plans with Simplisafe, $14.99/mo or $24.99/mo. Neither this ad, nor the Simplisafe website (at least I couldn’t find it) says anything about the $24.99 plan. But most important about the plan issue is that this claim is not true at 50 cents/day: “The SimpliCam security camera lets you see what’s happening at home anytime from your phone, tablet or computer and comes with a built-in stainless steel shutter for complete control over privacy.” You have to have the $24.99/mo plan. With the $14.99 plan, I can’t arm or disarm my device remotely, view the activity of my specific devices, change contact settings, get emergency text messages, or manage my devices. The only features I get with the $14.99 plan are emergency email messages and calls, view my camera (real time only) through the phone app only, and emergency response. 2) To set this up yourself is not as easy as claimed. I had to call Simplisafe to activate 5 of my sensors. 3) Until I agreed to a plan they said they couldn’t help me set-up my devices. 4) AFTER my system was set-up and my plan was in place, they informed me that some police departments require a permit to have a home alarm system if the system is connected to 24/7 emergency monitoring. My city is one of them and my city also requires a fee for having a home alarm system. This is not mentioned here or on the Simplisafe website (at least I couldn’t find it). I can see why cities do this but it would have been nice to know ahead of time so I could research the costs first. 5) Since purchasing this system I’ve had to call Simplisafe 2 times and the hold wait times were over 45 minutes each to get a representative. So if I have to call Simplisafe to change anything I should expect to wait on hold for a really long time. On the positive - The Simplisafe staff is very friendly and professional, and skilled at managing frustrated customers! They would have gotten 5 stars if I didn’t have to wait on hold for so long. I’ve only had this system for a week but I got it at a good price so I’m happy with the system, even with its limitations – so far. I will say I wouldn't pay the current Amazon price for it knowing what I know now. This is my first system and it has definitely been a learning experience. Mar 2022 Update: 1) I've had this system for about 2 years now. The wait time for help has completely improved. I've had to call a few times and I don't think I've waited more than a minute. 2) I can now view my cameras through my computer and tablet. I still have the $14.99 plan so it’s still just real time. 3) I can now arm/disarm my system from my phone, computer and tablet even with the $14.99 plan. I also get an email every time I do anything to my system so I am aware, just in case I didn’t make the change to the system. And the emails are immediate. 4) It seems as though I now get everything the $24.99 offers except camera recordings. I don’t know if I would get emergency texts because I haven’t had an emergency since I bought it. They give you a yard sign that says “Protected by SimpliSafe” so it’s likely a deterrent. 5) They have not raised their prices in over 2 years, even with a struggling economy. I would think a price increase is coming soon, but at this point I’m so pleased with this system and company that I’d have no issues paying an increase. 6) Their customer service has always been, and still is very friendly and professional. They like to please their customers - they've given me a discount that I wasn't really eligible for and replaced a bad sensor for free. I like that I have been able to grow my system over time, adding additional sensors, alarm, cameras, etc. without a big-ticket price all at once. I’m completely happy with this system and I know I made the best choice for me.

No - No - No - Equipment poorly designed
NOT an adequate system - poorly designed (on purpose???). The system triggered notice beeps are so quiet even at loudest setting you cannot hear if more than 5 feet from the keypad or any other ambient noise such as a tv or radio is present, or running a faucet, or kids making noises. Not a problem if you return home and immediately go to disarm. But, if you forget to disarm the system and open a door or window you cannot hear the beeps - which ONLY come from the keypad. Or one of your kids or another person in the house opens a door or window. If you go out a back door into the yard you WILL NOT be able to hear the notice beeps for the system you forgot was armed. The actual alarm from the base station is ok loud, and startles you when it goes off unexpectedly- then you have to drop everything to try to cancel the alarm in time - big problem if it was an upstairs window and keypad is down stairs or other distance such as a basement or you are out of the house. FALSE ALARMS can lead to EXPENSIVE FINES or even CRIMINAL CHARGES in some municipalities. Customer service said ONLY solution is to BUY AN ADDITIONAL siren unit - expensive as you will probably have to buy multiple such units at over $50 each. And isn't the base station also a siren (intentionally designed inadequacy for not having this run through base station also?)? I called twice about this problem, and they refused to send a free siren to fix their known inadequate poorly designed system. This notice alarm ONLY comes from the keypad, is unuseable as it is way too quiet. SimpliSafe should have designed an adequate volume into the keypad and made the base station to also produce the notice beeps. The voice notices from the base station are adequately loud - adding notice beeps to base station would help and can be done. So my ONLY solution is to BUY multiple ADDITIONAL sirens which may or may not resolve the problem. Also, as this is wireless, it can easily be bypassed if another stronger signal is activated - these devices are easy to find and buy and I am sure criminals know this. So, inadequate inaudible system triggered beeps, must buy additional expensive equipment as only solution which may or may not work, and system can easily be bypassed. You can check that out yourself. Not a good system or deal. At my last home I had a different system and this was not a problem so it can be done. Simpli Safe chooses to produce and sell inadequate equipment then tell you to buy additional expensive equipment they say will fix the problem. They must have learned that from Microsoft marketing people. ANYONE WITH A DISABILITY OR LIMITED MOBILITY OR KIDS BEWARE. Cheap for a reason. But really only cheap initial base system, all the other needed add-ons are quite expensive. Simpli Safe - shame on you. Maybe I could have given 2 or 3 stars but this is such an irritating problem that should have easily been better designed and the poor customer service solution - just buy more equipment - really makes me mad as this problem really is not necessary and could be fixed easily. BTW: It wasn't the individual customer service reps who were great trying to help, it is the SimpliSafe company imposed limitations and poorly designed equipment which is the problem. Other companies don't have this problem. And it not only causes me to have to suddenly respond to the alarm that goes off, it needlessly exposes me to potential fines and criminal charges. And for those who care - needlessly wastes the time of police and/or other first responders. Embarrasing that this company which touts its "American" status (eqipment likely made in other countries??) is sooooo bad.

Amazing & Affordable!
This is my 2nd system & I got it at 1/2 price! It is so easy to install & the most affordable security system I've ever had! If your home has a lot of doors & windows, it is very easy to add to the system at a reasonable price. The fob is great option if you are renting or have kids. The only issue we have is we can't use the away mode because our two 90lb pitbulls set off the alarm as they move around. This may not be an issue if your dogs are smaller. Camera is crystal clear!

Good price, good value. Just buy it and get it over with so you can install it already.
Writing from the perspective of a mother of three from a working class background who lives in a nice area: I think this security system is great. I like the main console becuase it's sleek looking and has a nice light. I like how easy it was to apply the sensors around my home. I like the remote control for activating or deactivating remotely (from your car, for example). I like the keypad too. The system was easy to install and is a far greater value than the commercial stuff you pay goo-gobs of money to have installed. Honestly, I won't waste my money on those other products. Get yourself a home security system you can install yourself, add the Ring doorbell or something else like it, put a camera outside where you need it and monitor your home from your device yourself. This system is nice because it comes with options. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that it comes with a panic button you can adhere somehwere in your house. My panic button is in the baby's room in case something happens to my youngest.

Very poor. No app available in Australian App Store -
Very simple to install, nice design, works well whilst at home, however is useless as it does not offer monitoring via Australian Apple App Store. No monitoring when away from home. Shame. Should not sell Amazon, until capability is available.
