At 160mm no you don't, but at 180mm yes you do. I have 2017 Ex 8, 160mm on rear no adapter but on 180mm front I do

You would have to look at your current size rotor usually they’re different from front to rear. Front use of being bigger. Look up your fork manufacturer it’ll tell you the size rotor.
