Nice product for controlling lighting
Easy to install as the instructions are fairly straightforward. Programming is a little challenging but didn’t take too long to learn Good value and works perfectly

Remember To Program The Days For The "OFF" Command Same As The "ON" Command
Needed this to replace a switch that controls outlets that feed the Christmas lights along the eaves. The timer fits in the same space as a Decora switch. It's white where my house switch color is light almond, but the switch is in the garage and not noticed, so no problem. There are four wires on the switch: black (power), white (neutral) green (ground) and red (the load/lights). I determined the hot side of the switch with a voltage sensor before throwing the breaker. That hot wire goes to the black wire on the timer. The other wire in the original switch is the load and goes to the timer's red wire. Ground goes to the ground. The white wire has to be connected to a neutral white wire. With houses wired using Romex, there are usually a bundle of white wires in the junction box. I undid the wirenut and added the timer's white wire, then replaced the wirenut. Programming the timer is slightly tricky. First thing is to set the internal clock and tell the timer what day it is. There is an internal battery backup so it retains time, day and program should there be a power failure. There's also a Reset button if you want to clear it out and start over. Now that time of day and day of week are set, you can program separate on and off times for up to 18 events. You can program for single days of the week or just Monday through Friday or just the weekends. All I wanted was one event: turn on at 5 PM and off at 11 PM every day. I read the directions carefully and for Event 1, set it for on at 5 PM. You then have to set which days it will happen. You press "PROG" over and over until you cycle through all the days of the week, then M-F, then Sa-Su, then, finally, all the days are displayed. Next I set the "Off" time for 11 PM. Great. Finished. I set the "Mode" to Auto and closed the little door. Right on time, the lights turn on at 5 PM. Success! Except in the morning, the lights are still on. Turns out you have to set the days of the week the "OFF" command will happen, just like you have to set the timer for the days it will turn "ON." Sneaky. Re-read the instructions and went back into Program until the OFF time of 11 PM was displayed. I punched the PROG button until all the days of the weeks were displayed. NOW it works. Turns on at 5, off at 11, every day. With programming flexibility comes many options and many ways to foul up. But it works fine now. Excellent price. There's also a master ON/OFF slider switch under the door so when it's not Christmas season and there's no need to energize the outlets, they will remain off. You can manually turn the lights on or off by simply pressing on the little door. It's designed to punch the "MAN" buttons beneath the door so you don't have to open the little door to turn the lights on or off manually.

Works fine but instructions need more clarity
Fairly easy to install if you know what you’re doing. This was for a two switches controlling the lights. LCD could be brighter. Programming it was hit or miss. Instructions could be clearer. 18 programs, each with 7 days. In each program you set the on/off times for 0 to all 7 days. EVERY program is run each day which was unexpected. I thought you could select which program to run but to turn lights on/off multiple times per day (like morning and night) you need to run every program every day. Once I got that everything worked fine. This also allows varying on/off times each day to make it look like a human was turning lights on and off, not a timer. Lights have been coming on/off as set. I especially like the battery backup so you don’t lose the programming. There is a reset button also that makes clearing all programs easy too. So far I am very satisfied.

Excellent Functionality for Motors, Lights, and other 15A Circuits.
I used this switch when installing a whole-house fan, and it works wonderfully to control the the motor. I plan on installing more of them for the outside/porch lights. I like the features and design better than anything I could find in local stores. Programmable Features: It is very easy to program, and the instructions are straightforward. The display is easy to read. It also gives you plenty of time to make your selections before automatically returning to the main display (I think 10 seconds for each button). The plastic door on the front doubles as the manual on/off override switch, which is nice. Construction: The switch seems well-built. The housing, face plate, screen, and buttons are sturdy and look like they'll withstand decades of use. Installation: It took me 3 minutes to install the switch. The switch doesn't have screw lugs but has the wires extending from the case to where you wire nut them directly to the box wires. The wiring is typical (black, white, red, green) and the schematic is clear. I read some reviews and questions complaining about not knowing what the different colored wires mean or what to do if the box doesn't have a neutral. Those reviews terrify the heck out of me considering those users have no business doing any kind of residential electrical work if they don't know basic universal wire insulation colors, don't know how to read a schematic, don't know what "hot" and "load" mean, and don't know how to fish a neutral into the box. Call an electrician before you burn down your house and kill someone. Overall, it's an excellent switch for the price.

Frustrating fixture
I purchase the switch to enchanted the security of my home while away/traveling that I planned for Upon receiving the package the switch box displayed it was previously riped apart showing it was been tempered with.I inspected the switch before installing and saw evidence that all 4 wires of the switch had been cut compared to a new switch displayed of images and spec and the wires also were shorter than that of a new one. I decided that I would have to resoldered the wire ends for proper installation and coding. With proper installation and testing using a voltmeter and circuit tester the switch presented no voltage and a break in the circuitry at switch. Note testing confirmed the switch presented no signals of electrical connectivity. I was disappointed with my purchasing a defective switch. It seems evident that there was no QC and testing of the switch before resale which would have eliminate a defective product. Cautious of ever buying a newly open or used produced as indicated. Here's a few pictures for your viewing

EXCELLENT product
Really nice! Pay attention to the fact that it REQUIRES a common wire. Programming takes a little concentration but becomes easier as you do it. Using this to turn my outdoor Christmas decoration on and off. Works flawlessly.

This is a great little device - But it can fail
This is a great little device. I bought and installed three. Easy to program and seems solid. A note on installation: If the light blinks after you install the switch you haven't connected it to a neutral wire. Frequently electricians will gang neutrals together under one wire nut and just run load, hot, and ground to the switch. You may have to dig around in the junction box to find the ganged neutrals. You can add the white lead on the HET101-c to the ganged neutrals and all should be well. If the light (or device) won't turn on at all then you've most likely reversed the load and hot connections. Just reverse the load and hot leads and everything should be fine. Always turn off power at the breaker box. Never work "hot." If the wire nuts supplied don't cover the uninsulated leads (except for ground) go to Home Depot or Lowes and get bigger ones. This is especially true for large ganged connections. UPDATE March 2020: While the switches we placed elsewhere are fine - places we rarely use them - the switches we placed in our kitchen and used every day failed, one after the other. While the device is listed as rated for 1875 watts, these were feeding LEDs that only totaled 150 watts. So they weren't overloaded. I guess they just aren't up to many cycles. This was mechanical use, not the auto switch, which we only used rarely. So if you're putting them somewhere where they'll get a lot of use, be prepared to replace them. We simply went back to our old mechanical switch.

Highly recommend.
Great switch and very easy to install. No need to run a separate wire just need to know how to connect everything properly in the switch box! I used this on my DIY grow light since most timers don't fully shut off the LED and they stay dim when suppose to be off (both mechanical and digital type). This switch works perfectly thanks to the neutral line connection and was easy to use and program as long as you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! Highly recommend for led bulbs. Also has internal battery backup so your timer settings stay during a power outage.

One of the BEST, Will Buy MORE
Purchased several before and returned them all for some issues like cheap material, low quality build, Already broken. Purchased this one as last try and WOW, Build and material was very good, durable and solid, instruction manual was very clear and sufficient, came with all i would need in the box. Installed in 10 min, easy to program, programing done in 2-3 min and works like charm. Going to buy some more.
