OVO Central Vacuum Standard Accessory, Kit A 30', Black

Beam replacement are not easy to find and we took a chance on OVO. That was a great move, and this is now our second set from this brand replacing both our Beam aged accessories upstairs and downstairs. They are a great improvement over the original - happy to recommend this to my neighbors and friends.

The hose nozzle is a smidge wider than the original Nutone nozzle, so it is a little more snug in the 1.5" vacuum cleaner ports. It isn't so snug it would get stuck, but it does stay in more firmly than the old Nutone vacuum cleaner hose it is replacing. I decided to replace the old vacuum cleaner ports with new ports that fit a little better. The hose is also wider in diameter so it sucks better. Basically, the air encounters less resistance going down the long tube.

For the price - this 30' KIT-LV30S-OVO appears to be a good value. Time will tell how the very light weight hose will hold up to daily vacuuming needs? The handle and on/off switch on the hose is ergonomic and appears to be well made. The feature of rotating the hose inside the handle is also a plus. The adjustable length wand appears to be of good quality and the various points of length adjustment will be well used in our family's vacuuming activities. For those that are using this new style hose to replace an older central vacuum hose (in our case an older Beam 30' hose) please note that this new style hose does not have two (2) pins for connection - but simply a tab at the top of the insertion end. This tab orients the insertion of the hose end and the metal tabs on the side of the hose end make the connection to energize the central vacuum wall unit. If one inserts the hose end with the tab pointed to the side - the central vacuum unit is energized regardless of the position of the handles on/off switch. There were no directions or labeling signifying this connection method included in the box. The attachments are shop vac quality but should hold up for a good period of time. OVO does have excellent customer service and a reasonable warranty on attachment kits.

The whole set up works but the hose is just plain cheap. It kinks easy and the hose wall thickness is pretty thin. Durability is not going to be its strong factor. I had to tape the little plastic part on the handle that slides over the vent hole because its just so loose it wont stay put. I will not buy this again.

The top bit disconnects from the vaccum attachment all the time... Even after it clicks in. So that's annoying.

The electrical on switch in the handle died in less than a year, making the product useless (i.e. there is no way to turn the central vac on). When it worked it was fine, but I would not purchase again at this price for less than a year of use.
