Massel Gravy Tub (6, Chicken Style)

Wonderful alternative to my previous gravy. I have recently developed a severe onion allergy and I have had anaphylactic shock from products containing alliums. It has seriously damaged my ability to eat food and I'll likely never eat out nor buy a ready meal again. This gravy has improved my quality of life because it is safe for me AND thick and rich and full of savoury deliciousness. I just need significantly larger containers to be available!!

A free from onion and garlic gravy is excellent news for those with different dietary needs. The taste would have been absolutely delicious, but it was overwhelmed by the amount of added salt. It would be wonderful if Massell reduced the salt content so it's more in line with their stock cubes which have the perfect balance.

Low fodmap gravy, a wonderful taste, amazing that it doesn't contain any meat as has a really rich beef flavour. So nice to have gravy granules after 5 years of having to make my own from scratch. It is so so tasty, I found that it does require slightly more granules or slightly less water to get it to the thickness I prefer. Also needs boiling water whisked in to make sure it is fully dissolved although easily rectified by microwaving for a few seconds and whisking again if need be. So pleased to find this on amazon now along with several other low fodmap products - sauces and stock powders.

Yes, this is low FODMAP but also the ingredients are highly ultra processed. What this product is is essentially a bunch of starches with flavourings and colourings. Even if it’s very expensive I didn’t find it good enough to keep it so I’ll put it in the bin.

Good product, I have a lovely Muslim boy in my class, he has a eating disorder, sometimes his school meals are too dry. I can make the gravy up easily in my class. He gives it the thumbs up.

First and foremost it is not the same kind of gravy you would get that would be made from the usual gluten containing ingredients. I had to experiment a little with the instant version. It might be a good idea to weigh out the amount you need and then use it that way. Having said that its tasty , gluten free and goes well with chicken. It would have been five stars but its a touch expensive and if you get the amount wrong by a few grams you can end up with very thin gravy. I find that two heaped dessertspoons in 250 ml ( made with 50 ml cold and 200ml boiling) works best but you'll have to adapt it to your taste. Overall very nice but it was a stopgap purchase.
