This is great lard. It leaves zero aftertaste. I made pie crust with it. I'm trying my grandmother's buttermilk biscuits with it next.

The product states it's "pure lard" no additives - however when it arrived on the box it has ingredients also, BHA, BHT both of which are considered to be carcinogens. It cost 5x what American Lard - also with BHA & BHT.

I bought this Tenderflake leaf lard last February, but didn't use it till today. My goodness, this lard makes the best, flakiest pie crust ever. Flakier than a good brioche or croissant. And absolutely NO taste of pig. This is clearly a very high quality fat, and I am going to find lots of different uses for it. January 2025 update: I've bought this several times now, and am coming back today for more. I love this lard. It has inspired me to make really delicate tasting pie crusts. I made cookie frosting out of it for Christmas sugar cookies with a hard-ish frosting, and it was wonderful. I wish this came in a huge tub. Again, there is ABSOLUTELY NO AROMA OF PIG FARM. This is a good thing. Buy some. Your pie crusts will go to the next level.

This is great stuff that is not easily gotten in USA. Imported from Canada and a staple in every serious pastry maker in Canada!! This took a long time to be delivered, not sure why, but when we did receive it it was NOT damaged in any way and did NOT have any off smells. This is really expensive!! So we will cherish this in our pie pastry making!! Not sure when we will be able to re-enter Canada because of Covid, but it's the only way to buy this directly in a store and at a much more reasonable price. This was a Christmas gift for this year's Christmas baking!!

If you want the taste of old-fashioned pie crust like grandma made, this is the answer. Otherwise hard to find, this is the real deal and your pie crust will prove it. It freezes well so buy several and freeze some so you never are without
