Plastic Chess Pieces 3,75" / 95 mm King Height - Tournament Standard Size Weighted Chessmen

I don't have a ton of experience with chess pieces, but these have worked very well for us so far. I play mostly with my young son - he is obsessed, so we play a lot, and the pieces take a fair amount of abuse. They've stood up very well. I was looking for pieces that would be sturdy and wouldn't hurt to step on (because I knew they'd always be scattered all over the floor). They indeed work well for that. The "triple weighting" is very nice, highly recommend choosing a set with that feature. Especially for kids, as it makes them harder to knock over. It also gives them some nice "gravitas" (pun intended). I initially thought the design of the knights was a little odd looking, but I don't notice that anymore. I bought a second set for when we inevitably lose some of the pieces (and to have spare queens for promotion - better than the cardboard ones I made).

Everything is good, real and solid plastic with weight which are perfectly fit. Good for professional chess player who wants a budget price chess pieces for highest quality. Customer service of Amazon was also fast when I request enquiry and status. Thanks to Amazon and this merchant.

Pieces are of great quality but they don't have any sensors, meaning the games won't get recorded if you have a DGT board. This information should be included in the description. Will have to return them.

Very playable. Very durable. Way better than the “triple weighted” sets everyone sells that arrive with loose weights or get them after a few games. Not as heavily weighted but still very good. Knight looks a little dopey but otherwise fantastic set. Plastic feels like a much higher quality than most sets. Update. Have played this set a lot. Pieces have fallen off the table during blitz games. It's been banged around. Still in excellent shape with no loose weights. Everyone that I've played against has enjoyed them.

These outstanding chess pieces by DGT is just more than amazing weighted pieces. Very unique and well made. It’s high quality plastic pieces with combination of great materials. Perfect for rapid and blitz games. The most attractive thing about this chess is that the build quality is just fantastic. Highly recommend for all chess lovers.
