Easy and Effective
True Sons absolutely works. I read some reviews saying it doesn't work and that's bs, they obviously haven't applied it for long enough and yes the skin can turn darker but it comes off with soap, not a big deal. The drugstore dye is too dark and looks fake since all your hairs come out the same color. This dye leaves variation in your hair which is more realistic while darkening the lighter ones. Just leave it on for longer for a darker effect and be sure to scrub your skin underneath to get rid of the residue. It's definitely much easier to use and takes longer to work, but I leave it on for 13 min and it's perfect. You have to just experiment for the timing that's the right darkness for you. A more natural look is way more convincing than the fake dark dyed look!

Does NOT WORK
After researching various types of hair dyes for head and beard, I settled on this brand. With much excitement I opened the package, read the directions, and followed them to the letter (cleaning skin prior to application, applying enough foam to the area to ensure areas were covered). Waited the additional 5 minutes for the beard area (as the instructions say you may need the extra 5 minutes beyond the first time 10-15 for this area.) I watched as the foam turned dark brown, and started to disintegrate as my beard started appearing. As it started appearing, it was still gray - I figured, maybe it started from the root up? I’m no Brad Mondo, but usually the roots turn quicker as they are closest to the skin adding extra heat to the process. The timer went off, I rinsed my face and looked in the mirror and nothing changed. Nada. Not one single hair. Additionally, it took some extra time to get the dye off my skin (which at first made it look like I had MORE gray!) But once it was all off and wiped away - I reinspected and to my utter disappointment, again, nothing changed. I figured - ok, let’s try this again. Rinse and repeat. Again, to my utter disappointment, and 30 minutes of dye time combined - nothing. Still gray. Not even minor coverage. Same as it was (especially from my sideburns down where most of my coverage is.) I had hoped they would offer a money back guarantee, but alas - they do not. So folks, when you are debating buying this and you see some of those negative reviews and you think “It’ll work for me.” Let me reassure you, it won’t. Save your time and money and get just for men.

Easy to use, but the shades need work
I really like this product when it comes to ease of use, application, and the final result. The foam is simple to work with and the color sets in quickly without much mess. That said, the color range is where I’ve run into some issues. I’ve used the dark brown and lately felt it came out a little too dark for me, especially in the summer. So I tried the medium brown instead, hoping for a softer look, but I honestly could not tell the difference. I even tested both at the same time, one on each side, and they looked exactly the same. I just wish the shades were actually different enough to notice.

A natural looking result and it’s easy to use
This is the first hair color product I’ve ever used, and so had some fear about what the results might look like. Having seen some friends walk around with goatees that appeared to have been dyed with Sharpies, I didn’t want that, and I definitely didn’t want to end up with a rash or modern art on my face. Thankfully none of that happened, and I can’t imagine an easier product to use. I purchased it to dye my goatee and side burns, which have gone mostly white over the last two years. When the package arrived, I was happy to see that everything I needed was contained in it. It includes the foam color agent, gloves, clean-up wipes and a little comb. The only thing missing was a tube of lip balm, which they suggest using around the hair line as a precaution to prevent skin staining. I am African-American, and their literature suggests that their black color is probably the best match, but I went with the brown-black color aiming for a more natural look. That turned out to be a good call for my hair. I wanted to leave some gray showing so that the application was not so apparent. I left it on my goatee for about 12 minutes, and the end result is very natural looking. Essentially the white hairs are now a softer grey, and the darker hairs are nearly black, all with a very slight brown tint. I left it on the side burns a bit longer, about 15 minutes, and the result was more dramatic, but still very natural looking. I’ll probably go with 15 minutes all around next time. On a slightly personal note, I tested the product first in a less conspicuous place, umm, “downtown,” only to read later that they don’t recommend use there, despite what their ads say. As we know, that skin is not like other skin, and I did have a freak-out moment when it appeared that literally everything was changing color. Luckily things seem fine after a good rinse. Lastly I’ll mention that there’s virtually no mess, and it smells quite nice. It’s several times more expensive than other products that claim to do the same thing, but I’m completely sold on the very natural result, and its ease of use.

Does not work - Misrepresented - Would give 0 stars if possible
I read the reviews thoroughly before deciding to purchase the product. Some reviews were 5 star and some were 1 star. I thought due to the wide gap, it would be a gamble, but thought I would try none the less. Well, it turned out to be a bust. I ordered the color black. I don't have tons of white to cover, maybe 20%. The small bottle seemed as though it was not completely full and when the foam come out it appeared somewhat oxidized already. Meaning, they say the foam is supposed to be white and later start to turn color - when I dispensed the foam it was already a brown color (oxidized). I generously applied the foam as directed, left on for 20 min and it basically washed right out. Could barely tell that I colored at all. White hair was showing through after treatment. There was a mild odor and the fumes from the product were burning my eyes. Felt like I needed to put on safety goggles as the product was setting. After I rinsed, my eyes were still burning some. Also smelled faint odor during the night. Next day was fine, albeit the product was basically gone after the second rinse/shower in the morning though. I would highly RECOMMEND AGAINST purchasing this product. There is no ability to return. Waste of money.

After 25 Years Dye marketed to Women Still Superior Hair Option for Men. As a Beard Option? Maybe
About a quarter century ago, Consumer Reports evaluated all the then-available hair & beard dyes marketed to men and concluded that such products are inferior, massively more expensive, and succeed in the marketplace by exploiting men's insecurity at being seen in drug store checkout lines with "women's cosmetics" or being seen pulling such items off the shelf. Since then, I've used Clairol Root Touch-Up for my beard (10mins every 5-7 days) and L'Oreal Preference or L'Oreal Excellence (both 30 mins) or, more recently, Clairol Perfect 10 (10 mins). I get two applications for my beard from each $7-8 purchase of Clairol Root Touch-UP, and 1-3 applications (depending on how long my hair has grown) from each of the others. All these products eliminated all traces of gray and all functioned as "multi-use" kits if you that's what you want them to be (all they lack is explicit instructions on mixing small quantities, but this isn't difficult to calculate!). @ ~$40 for one purchase, I'll be lucky if I get 4 applications (but for both hair and beard) from True Sons which, counter-intuitively did a good job on coverage of my beard but barely made a dent on my hair, leaving the area needing coverage -1/2" at the roots- untouched and as gray as ever. This was even after a 2nd application for which I doubled the recommended "leave on" time to 10 mins and used 1 1/2 times the recommended amount of "booster". Conclusions? For my hair, True Sons simply did not work as claimed, despite two attempts. So, even it it weren't way more expensive than products marketed towards women, I wouldn't purchase this again. For my beard, True Sons worked well but is significantly more expensive than what I've used for 25 years (Clairol Root Touch-Up) but it has one advantage: It ingredients are much less harsh on the skin than is my go-to dye. I may try this again for my beard ....

Best all around
I use the medium brown on my beard every two weeks or so. I use the booster which I think really helps penetrate the many grays I have in my beard it gives me a natural color that is very similar to my original hair from so many years ago. I get compliments all the time saying how young I look and how good my beard looks. The dye is in a little dispenser that you can squirt out as much or as little as you need and be able to save the rest for next time. Once you do your first dye job you won’t need nearly as much to touch up the roots that have grown out. This helps to justify the price. I get several application uses out of one order unlike most other dyes that have to be thrown away if not used immediately. Overall, I really like this product because I followed the directions and chose a dye color closest to my original hair which gave me great results.

Same Hoax in expensive bottle.
Well, let me tell you, folks, I am in my early 40s and like everyone else, I am on a constant hunt for a product that gives me good coverage for grey beard. The coverage doesn't give me irritation, blistering, and unnatural looks. Long back tried Just For Men one of the worst blistering and I was ready to sue them literally. Then tried several natural henna-based products with various results including the most expensive option in that category called Grizzly Mountain, though it didn't irritate my skin and developed any blisters, but, the result was less than satisfactory, it turn grey hairs into dark grey, not a good coverage and wouldn't last two days. Finally heard and read so many reviews including from someone like me who burned (literally and figuratively Just For Men product. So this looks very expensive, but advertised most of the things I am looking in for. So ordered one. Now, let me tell you the pros and cons of that would be easier. First Pros: The latex gloves and comb that came with the package were really top quality so that's about it. Now Cons: Well, it seems like these people play with the mentality, which is if you pack a shitty product nicely and sell it at a very high price it automatically gets into people's minds that, oh well, this must be a good product, and that exactly what this company did. Package it nicely and sell it very expensive. Basically, this is slightly better than JFM. It definitely didn't give me any blisters, but irritation yes, it's very irritating, not like JFM. So irritation and blistering well, I would bare it if the other two factors works. Second, the color is nothing natural looking at all, it is just the same JFM and other dye kind very artificial looking and nothing natural at all. Longevity, well, it is the same as JFM and others, or even worse it won't seems to long even a week. overall, I was ready to forgive irritation for a better result and longevity, given how expensive it is, but seriously offended and frustrated as taken for a ride with nice packaging and an expensive price point. If someone don't have serious irritation and blistering issue with JFM or other 1/4th price points of this product they would achieve pretty much the same result. After applying this I am just worried about how badly it stains my skin and how soon it will go away because I look weird and artificial creep. I have a small beard and I thought this won't stain my skin that badly and even if it did, it would natural looking. Just stay away and pay 1/4ht the price and continue with your old products. Not recommended.
