Q: Okay to put wool in thermalstrike?

The Ranger is perfectly safe all types of fabrics – including wool, leather, silk, cotton, etc. The temperatures inside the Ranger are similar to a car on a hot summer day or a commercial dryer. The heat, of course, is being uniformly delivered on all sides and maintained for several hours to ensure everything is treated.

Q: What are the dimensions inside when set up?

I have put my Ranger away. That information should be on the box if you have it. The Ranger bag held lots of clothes, some shoes that could withstand the heat and not melt the sole. I could put a small suitcase in, with certain clothes. If you have internet, research. After heating I purchased big plastic bags and zipped, put away in closet until they were needed.

Q: Will this shrink clothes like a tumble dryer and will it ruin shoes?

Clothes will not shrink as they do in a dryer. A dryer blows very hot air and will remove moisture causing fabric to shrink or contract. The Ranger is a sealed enclosure that simply heats the contents without pulling away the humidity. For example, if you place damp clothing into the unit, the material will heat up and destroy any bed bugs, but it will not actually dry the clothing. Regarding shoes: Some synthetic materials may hold their shape if the shoes were tightly packed and 'squished' before treatment. Athletic shoes or fabric uppers have no issues. If after a treatment shoes are misshapen, they can generally be reshaped by either wearing the shoes - or by compressing material inside the shoe and letting them sit for a while.

Q: What wattage does it use?

The Ranger initially pulls 370 Watts and then decreases as the unit comes up to temperature. After the first 30 minutes, the power draw is more like 200 Watts on average. To put this in relative terms, this is around 80% less power draw than one of the alternative blower heaters.
