I was loking for a Metal Dog Barrier for my family car, for our road trips with our furry friend. I was having trouble finding a barrier to fit a Fiat 500 (2dr), as you need one that is taller than normal and very narrow. This one fits nicely! As an added bonus, you can adjust the horizontal bars at the bottom to allow your dog entry into the back seat by simply folding the front seat forward as you normally would. No need to touch the divider. I do suggest you have a roll of electrical tape handy when assembling this, using it to make some bushings will solve the rattles and make it much sturdier. 1) The hoops expand (like a trombone slide), and therefore the diameter of the tubing on one side is different than the other side. The smaller diameter tubing does fit tightly into the clamps that attach to the vertical supports. 2) The second one is not visible in the photos, the vertical tubes are a piece of tubing with a piece of all-thread inside that fits loosely. They are adjusted by turning a large wingnut that is at the end of the tubing. Unfortunately, this creates a lot of rattles and allow the entire piece to wobble a lot when extended. Wrapping some tape around the end of the all-thread (inside the tubing) to make a bushing not only solves the rattle, it makes the entire piece much stronger. As other reviews mention, the assembly instructions are not good but the pictures on the box help. Also, mine was missing a part so I contacted the manufacturer and had a replacement in a couple of days. I'm pretty happy with this overall, expecially for the price.

Placed the gate in an Acura MDX and works well in keeping two dogs (mid size) in the back area. Easy to put in and very sturdy.

After trying two different fabric style barriers and them ending up not fitting well or looking nothing like the ad pics, I decided to give this one a go and it works. The assembly video on the ad is spot on perfect and made a big difference in getting it assembled quickly and correctly. The problem I have is I have 2 door Jeep JK and even with the back seat removed has a minimal amount of room in back especially for our 100 lb Lab . To get the most room with this assembled I first braced it from the floor to the black speaker bar housing on the roll bar, however its so smooth no matter how much I cranked on the screw to hold the set up in place, one quick bump and off it went. 2nd try I braced it in the roof. Problem solved. I do recommend this for your pets protection.Good quality and quick assembly.

If our dogs were larger or a bit less determined, I probably would rate this product higher. Our two smart "mutts" kept squeezing through or over the gaps between the horizontal barriers -- they are about the size of cocker spaniels at about 30 lbs. each. They don't like being thrown around in the back of our RAV4 so are very anxious to be in the more stable front seats and our laps. I considered buying a fourth horizontal barrier, but didn't see one made by Solvit so wasn't sure I'd get another brand that would fit. Still this barrier seemed like it should work and, with a little thought, we solved two problems at once. We took an old moving box 24"x18"x18" and cut it into two dog beds -- each is 2' wide which nicely fills up the 4' space between the doors. The sides are cut at an angle so the front is 6" high (easy for the dogs to step into) and the back is 12" high which fills up the excess open space at the bottom of the barrier allowing the 3 horizontal barriers to be closer together. The vertical tension bars are placed inside the beds snug against the 12" backs to hold them in place. Filled with a couple of smaller pet beds and the dogs ride comfortably with the sides of the larger beds keeping them from being thrown around as much. I am a retired woman of a "certain age" who doesn't crawl into the back of the car easily, so assembly took longer than some of reviews indicate -- nor do I expect moving the barrier will be all that easy for me. But we rarely need the rear seats up, so it will be possible and, hopefully, rarely needed. The barrier seems well made for the price. It does adjust to fill the space and is rattle-free when parts are well tightened. If you have a determined dog less than 35 lbs. or so, you might want to look further. But even with the extra work, I feel both we humans and our dogs are safer with the barrier in place.

Easy to install! Did it myself. Durable and good material! Works well with keeping my dog away from disrupting my driving.

Easy to install, does the job keeping our 60 lab in the right part of the car. Had bought one from a retail store couldn't out it together.

Se ve que es buen producto pero llegó incompleto, faltaron dos bases circulares que son las que sostienen las barras al techo y piso. Lamentablemente en un descuido rompí una de las piezas así que no podré cambiarlo ni devolverlo. Mala suerte y descuido pero se ve buena calidad del producto.
