Alex Evenings Women's Long Rosette Mother of The Bride Dress with Short Sleeves

I absolutely LOVE this dress - so pretty! I got it in eggplant for my daughter's wedding in October. The picture here made the dress look more like fuchsia, but it is a beautiful shade of eggplant/aubergine. Extremely flattering shape for my big belly and overall squishy body. Neckline is high enough to be modest without looking Victorian. It has a nice amount of stretch to it so that it doesn't feel tight or restrictive - even the sleeves are comfortable. It's several inches too long, but at 5' 3", I expect that. The biggest problem was the sizing! I went by the manufacturer's chart in the pictures, and I fell right between 18W and 20W. The advice I saw was to order down, so I got the 18W. It was enormous! I could pull several inches away from my waist. Just to be safe, I then ordered both the 16W and 14W. The 16W was still way too roomy. The 14W fits nicely - not tight at all, anywhere. It's got some breathing room, and eating room, too. I have not worn a 14 anything in decades - their sizing is weird.

Perfect fit. True to size. Nicely tailored and well sewn. I notice these things as I used to sew most of my clothing. I appreciate good craftsmanship. The design is quite well done. There is the soutache embroidery plus sequins.The movement is good with enough skirt fullness to dance in. It falls very nicely. The lining is well done. It's not a light weight dress. I bought it for my mother of the bride dress to wear to my daughter's late afternoon wedding in the Spring in a location where the temperature is mild. I feel like I won't be too hot or too cold in it as the reception is indoors after a garden ceremony. I'm 5'6" and 185lbs. If I wear two inch heels, I won't need to have it hemmed.

Color is exactly as pictured, quality is perfect, as you would expect from Alex Evenings. Cut was very slimming, fabric weight was light so for an August event it was not too hot. Good Value and can be shortened to mid calf for more use. The sequins added a touch of sparkle but not overdoing it.

Beautiful dress. Fit well- accurate sizing. Comfortable to wear all day long. Flattering for many body shapes. Doesn't show cleavage or have too much shoulder/arm area exposed. Classy looking without looking like an "old-lady". Color was a true dark purple/plum color and the lace overlay added some sheen without having glitter or too many sequins attached. Can wear for any formal occasion, mine was as a Mother of the Bride.

I’m posting pictures as that helped me when looking for a MOB dress. I’m 5’3” 120 lbs. This is a gorgeous dress. When shopping on Amazon I didn’t always receive the dress I ordered. Haha. I think some were mixed up when other women returned them. This dress is a lovely baby blue color. I liked the comfort and it was easy to move around in this. The rosettes gave it a bit of structure that would camouflage any problem areas. This was a contender for me when narrowing down my options. It was a 6 petite I believe. I wanted a 4 petite but it wasn’t available. The length was perfect. I am wearing medium heels in this photo but would have been fine with low heel or flats as well. This dress was one of the most comfortable dresses I tried on. You could dance the night away or pick up the grandkids with no wardrobe worries.

This is a very beautiful dress, great color, nice fabric, good weight, perfect fit - but not the dress I wanted. The one pictured and described in the listing has a V back which is what w I wanted, and I was happy I found it on Amazon and available in a 6P. The dress I received had a high rounded neck in back. But I felt I wouid not be able to find the V-back version in a 6P so I kept it rather than send it back and keep looking.

The Dress fit me perfectly, but color (champagne ), material finish, & cut did nothing to flatter me. Comfortable & wearable & decent price. EASY, painless, hassle-free, FREE, quick refund!! Bought the dress for a wedding. Super comfortable and fits exactly to the Alex Evenings size chart. It's the perfect dress for traveling because you can pack it in a suitcase and the dress does not wrinkle. Received lots of compliments on the dress. Love the violet color, it's almost a periwinkle blue color.
