Diamine Fountain Pen Ink, Aurora Borealis, 80 mL

This is a really beautiful color ink. Diamine inks are one of my favorite inks (Pilot Iroshizuku being my gold standard). This ink works in every fountain pen I have tried it in. It doesn't seem to be as wet as my other Diamine inks (Writer's Blood and Oxblood) and also not as wet as most of my iroshizukus. It flows well, though. In my TWSBI Eco, the main pen I use it in, it makes my medium nib write more like a medium-fine. It's so interesting how each ink, even within the same manufacturer line, can change how a pen writes. Notably, this ink has a decent amount of shading. For those who might not know, this means that in each individual writing event (e.g., writing one individual letter, or one continuous cursive word), when the pen lifts off the page there will be a wetter spot that back-fills whatever was written and that area dries darker. The result is that each written letter (or word / part of word in cursive) will have varying degrees of darkness. The resultant writing is not a consistent darkness. Shading is something many people love, because it distinguishes something written in fountain pen versus something written in ball point or gel. Personally, I could take or leave it, and, honestly, I wish this color had a bit less shading. I won't knock a star off for that, though, because some people WANT the shading. It's just something to be aware of. I have read many reviews on this ink and the consensus seems to be it has "medium shading". One last thing I will mention is that I love Diamine bottles in this series of their inks. To me, having a unique bottle that you can leave on your desk or on a shelf in sight is one of the pleasures of being a fountain pen user. I would gladly pay a little more for a nice bottle, although, admittedly, this is probably not the most fiscally sound policy. OK, I've said enough. In sum, beautiful color, not super wet but flows well, moderate shading, beautiful bottle. 5 stars.

Love this color!

I was getting tired of my expensive inks smudging on my moleskin paper, so I looked for something that dries a little faster but still flows well. My search led me to this ink, and it fits the bill. It’s pretty, writes well, and doesn’t take long to dry. I love my Japanese ink, but that ink doesn’t like my moleskin. Or I’m doing something wrong, but not with this ink.

I’m so pleased with this ink. It’s easy to pull into a fountain pen and I love the variance in color and the deep cerulean blue is so pretty. I love the shape of the bottle and that the cap screws on securely to keep the product from spilling.

I LOVE this ink! It is a wonderful shading ink that is an incredible teal that turns near black when heavily inked. Also love astronomy so it just works!

Love this ink. Used a 30ml bottle and no replacing it with the 80ml version. It's lays beautifully on the paper, the flow is excellent. All Diamine inks are well-behaved and appropriate for most pens.

Meinen Füllfederhalter nutze ich mit einem Konverter von Faber-Castell. Die Tinte fließt sehr gut und sieht zudem noch extrem gut aus. Auch die Karaffe ist mit dem Etikett schön anzusehen. Unbedingt zu empfehlen. 1A+

Was expecting more sheen, but it’s a very nicely shading teal ink. A pleasant alternative to blue.

I have been aiming to buy this ink for a long time and finally got my hands on it. It's kind of a sheeming ink and it writes beautifully on paper❤️
