I lay a lot of their product in my home and I was pretty annoyed at the recommendation to buy all their trowels for all kinds of different applications, and they sure aren't cheap. BUT...they are a very good quality product and when you're dropping the big big big bucks for Kerdie board and ditra, you want the right tools so I'm going to vote "yes' on these. They are super well made and not a speck of rust to be seen. So, a good product priced like all their others.

I like these trowels because the steel is high quality and the space between the handle and flat part is large which gives me more room for my hand to be able to hold the trowel at different angles.

The Schluter Kerdi Square Notch Trowel (1/8" x 1/8") is exactly what I needed for my waterproofing project. The notch size is perfect for applying thinset evenly and consistently under the Kerdi membrane, ensuring great adhesion without excess material waste. Schluter wrote the specs for their waterproofing system and they specify this tool. Considering the price of putting in a Schluter shower system the price of the tool is a small thing to ensure your guarantee stays in place.

Pricey otherwise it's a good trowel

Schluter invented Kerdi. You want Schluter's trowel to install Kerdi. Yes other trowels MAY work, but buy this, clean it after use, and own it for life. If you are a DIYer, read Schuter's instructions carefully for Kerdi and their all-purpose mortar. reread if necessary. My 2nd story bathroom floor came out waterproof and perfect---so wife says on later---and it was my first. Use Schluter adhesive for edges without bullnose tile to complete waterproofing.

Used this to install kerdi membrane. Looks sturdy. Should last a long time.
