Stormguard Replacement Rubber UPVC Window Door Gasket Seal Draught proofing excluder (12 Meters, Black)

This item does what it says on the tin and is great for replacement rubbers round the replacement glass panels I ordered quite a bit because after 10 years plus the robbers do perish or start to break up, but this was perfect for the replacement

6 metres is enough to do a standard sized uPVC door. The most difficulty I had was removing the old stuff. It pulled away easily at first and then broke up, leaving long sections in the slot that retains it. This was because it had become hard and brittle with age. I found that cutting along the broken strip's length with a stanley knife and then gently prising the remains out solved the problem. I made sure that the slot(s) around the door were thoroughy clean (with uPVC cleaner) once the old rubber seal had been removed. Putting the new rubber strip in was easy, just making sure it had located into the retaining slot around the door and making sure the rubber strip was fed in straight and that it was located properly when bending at right angles. Once finished, I did find the door difficult to shut at first, but this has improved, once the new strip had bedded in.

I bought this to replace some door bottom weather seals which had perished. I could not find an exact replacement but this one measured up with the same fitting for sliding into the door bottom groove, but instead of being a single flaplike the originals (which had rotted and come off) this one has a hollow circle of rubber which can crush up to form a better seal with the frame. It fitted perfectly, although it was a bit tighter than I thought it would be, especially as the seal was slid further along the door bottom. A small amount of rubber lubricant was needed to make it fit a bit easier. On one door the strip had a tendency to come out of the groove with a little force, - like when the door was opened or closed and the round seal was compressed. but on another door it was just perfect. If you have UPVC . composite external doors with this type of fitting and the same size grooves to take it (5mm) it is an ideal replacement.

Arrived a day earlier than expected but was fully tracked so no issues. Installation is straight forward once you get the knack, I used the blunt end of a metal nail file just to help push it into the groove. Corners are a little trickier but manageable. I installed this on an upstairs window and managed to do it from the inside, it meant twisting and contorting a bit but well worth the effort. The seal itself appears to be good quality and comparing this with the old seal just shows how worn the old one had become. This is good value for money and a lot cheaper than replacing the window.

I don't believe this is storm guard make, the arrow where it slots into groove is cheaply made .it did fit in which I thought it wouldn't.it just comes in clear packaging with a sticker saying storm guard..not in the official tub..done the job

Great product, very easy to change and install, you can do 1000000% yourself, just clean the surface first and put the rubber, came a large amount and you can install it all over the window SUPER I RECOMMEND !!! 5 stars greatly reduced external noise

Fantastic stuff. I live on an A road and wasn’t aware on how much noise I was hearing until installing this. I have 25 year old windows which are in perfect condition but were letting in the cold, I feel confident from the noise reduction that won’t be an issue this winter and I’ve now purchased another tub to do the rest of the home.

Good product I am still not sure it was the correct one for my door as I struggled to keep the V shape located in the groove.

Era lo que buscaba, calidad normalita pero hace el apaño. Asegúrate de medir el que tienes puesto antes de pedir el nuevo. Se pone fácil, cuando quites el antiguo, tirando hacia afuera, vas metiendo el nuevo despacito con un destornillador plano pequeño, con paciencia. Llegó antes de tiempo, todo bien, buen vendedor.

Ho acquistato le guarnizioni per sostituire quelle rovinate delle finestre in PVC. Sono qualitativamente valide, anche se sono leggermente più piccole di quelle in essere, anche se le misure indicate nella descrizione sembravano corrispondere perfettamente.
