The picture is the same for 1 liter as 2 liter. Does the 2 liter come with more bottles of essence? Enough for a full batch?

Two bottles of Skeeter's Reserve Essence is the correct amount to use for batches in a 2 liter barrel. The 1 liter kit uses 1 essence per batch yet comes with an extra bottle to make your second batch. Now the secret is out :) Looking forwarded to you joining our Outlaw Family, Cheers!

Do you have to have your actual name or can you get a groups name engraved on it?

Hi, There are limited characters on each line and the most names you "may" be able to put on one line is 2 names tops but they cannot be over 25 characters for that particular design #100. If you go directly to our website, we have a create your own design/logo and you can create the type of names/ artwork that you would like on the barrel, they are design #990 - #994 that you can choose from. Can the barrel be stained so it's not raw wood on the outside or will/can that affect the final product?

Hi B. Allen, Important question and happy to answer. It is NOT recommended to stain the barrel. Stain is "oil based" and penetrates the grains of the oak. Spirit stored on the inside is absorbed into the staves. If the two were to merge it could make your spirit toxic for consumption. To preserve the aesthetics of the barrel, we finish each vessel with a thin coat of clear, non toxic, "water based" poly.
