Not yet used it for that purpose. but it’s bigger brother is perfect for that job, this one might struggle a little.

will this cut 1mm brass rods to length and has it got a back stop

Depends on the length you want the clamp isn't great I bought it to cut screws but the clamp doesn't help so anything shorter than 10mm you can't cut, mine still in the box till I design a better clamping system to enable shorter cuts hope this makes sense

A bit disappointing

Not as good as you'd hope from Proxxon.Nicely made, but difficult to see where the cut is going to be.If I lived in USA, I'd buy one of the alternatives at quarter of the price.Sadly these are not available in rip-off Britain.

Not good for doll house size DIY!!!

Pointless I purchased to cut mitre on miniatures for dolls house. Wood higher than a a cm and long pieces get crushed by the bulkiness of machine when cutting down so skirting and cornice are out of question. You can turn other way but you loos mitre guide. Absolute rip off and badly designed
