BlackRapid LockStar II ABS Connector Cover for CR-3 & CR-4 Swivel Carabiners, 2-Pack

I've been trying to find an alternative to the typical camera strap, so I thought I would try the Black Rapid concept. However, after reading a number of horror stories about cameras falling off the strap, I decided to get a little "insurance."The carabiner that comes with the BR strap has a screw-sleeve that screws down over the clip end to secure it in place and prevent accidental opening of the carabiner (you know this already if you have a BR strap). Really, the likelihood of the sleeve coming completely unscrewed and then somehow doing something to open the carabiner and have your camera fall off is really unlikely. Not impossible, just highly unlikely (it's more likely your camera will come unscrewed form the attachment bolt). That being said, having several thousand dollars worth of equipment hanging from a single carabiner, this a small price to pay for another bit of piece of mind. I have no idea what the scratching issue is, but if I've cured something else by getting it, great.The quality is good, fitting very securely over the carabiner and the sleeve when in the lock position. It's made from a tough nylon-like plastic, with a little give that enables easy but secure locking. I doubt it will break in normal use. So far in use it has done what it's advertised to do (which, admittedly, is a pretty low bar) and it actually looks nice, too.And I have a second one for a friend or for whatever.

This clip worked perfectly for added protection when using my Black Rapid strap. I definitely recommend having one. As a side note I had issues with the clip unrelated to this Lock Star. Black Rapid was amazing in working to resolve the issue. No hassles just amazing customer service! In my opinion they went above and beyond to stand behind their product. If you are looking for a new camera strap check out Black Rapid. You will not be disappointed.

Good product, but the Black Rapid sets come with these on them already. Buy these only as backup or repairs! When I read the description, I thought this was a safety improvement, but that is not the case.

A Great accessory for Camera Sling users, I bought these to compliment my Heavy Leather New York custom Micro 4/3 camera sling. It snaps over the carabiner which attaches to my E-M1's tripod mount. Its benefits are two fold, made of ballistic nylon plastic it protects the body of my camera from scratches from the carabiner's metal construction and textured wheel lock. Secondly, it locks the wheel lock in place preventing accidental unscrewing during a day's use. A great addition to a person who enjoys the easy use of a camera sling, but, worries about the potential for carabiner failure and a expensive drop of their camera to the ground.

These do a good job of keeping the locking mechanism closed, but the clearances are a bit tight when taking a camera off of the hook; If you're using the silenced Fastenr [http://www.amazon.com/BlackRapid-RHF3M-2AO-FastenR-Stealth-Black/dp/B00BQ8UZD2/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1418983833&sr=8-6&keywords=fastenr], you have to remove the Lockstar completely as the hook's opening won't give enough clearance with this in place.

These are a must have for anyone that uses the BlackRapid Camera Straps. I have been using the Black Rapid straps on my cameras for many years and my greatest concern with the product is the fact the clip becomes loose. I am always in a habit of checking the strap and clip to ensure they are tight but after a good friend had one of his cameras come loose from the strap when the clip opened, I immediately began a search for a solution. (I gave a set of these clips to my buddy.) I am an event/wedding/portrait photographer. :D

This item is fine per say but the price is ridiculous and the fact that you need it in first place is also a bit silly. BlackRapid should realize that just because the swivel is not secure on their supposedly great strap does not mean that they should charge a super high price for the little plastic piece that keeps the carabener from coming off their pricey strap. I get why all the other accessories are expensive but do not see why this piece should be needed or expensive.

Pretty pricey for two small pieces of plastic. The issue is that the plastic guard doesn't lock tight enough around the clamp. So, when carrying the camera at the waist, it bounces around and the clamp that is supposed to protect the clamp from loosening unhooks. Kinda defeats the purchase. Not recommended.

1500 INR for two small plastic pieces is excessive.

Antes compre una imitación China, la verdad es que no hay por donde comparar, es fabulosa, no vale la pena llevar nuestra preciada cámara con una imitación barata, esta es mucho más cara pero vale la pena el gasto. SIMPLEMENTE GENIAL

What price can you put on your equipment? In some ways, when you have £4k of camera and lens hanging off a strap, then £10 for peace of mind isn't so bad Another way to look at it is £10 for two bits of 3p plastic is pretty outrageous. I decided the former was for me and I bit the bullet twice (!) and spent £20 on four of these.Yes, Black Rapid should include these (glad they do now). There are those of us who bought straps before BR saw the sense to include these with any new purchase. I would argue that BR don't profess their straps to be full-proof though.I have a BR RS7 and a non Black Rapid double strap. These fit my cheaper double strap perfectly as well. It's ideal that if you have more than one body, then make sure you have spare FastenR's for each body. This is because the Lockstar prevents the springy clip thingy on your strap opening fully even when the Lockstar has been swung around out of the way when unclipping your camera from your strap. Basically, to separate your camera from the BR, you have to fully remove the Lockstar. I don't fancy clipping this on and off in case it breaks so now i just leave this in place and unscrew the FastenR from the tripod socket. Sounds like a right faff but it's not!An essential buy. Expensive in one way, but £10 isn't expensive in the greater sum of things. Buy it, fit it, forget it. Boom!
