Extremely disappointed with this company that sold the printer they sent out a product that was defective and I pretty sure they knew it. It’s a challenge getting your refund back the company service!

Nice little printer
I bought this printer to replace one exactly like it that I have had for years. Some functions on my old printer did not work, and every time I turn it on, I receive a message that internal parts need service. When I checked Epson's customer service, they advised replacing the printer, and from experience, I know it is not usually worth the cost of repairing printers. I bought my first one used from a friend about 6 years ago, and I know she used it a lot. I am a scrapbooker, and I print many pictures to scrap. The thing I really like about this printer is that it prints better quality pictures than what I can get at WalMart or Target, and I have control over the picture quality (to an extent). I also like that I can choose to print 3" x 3" or 2" x 2" pictures, as well as 4" x 6" and several other sizes. I purposely shopped around for this particular printer because some of the newer models do not give you the option to print the small picture sizes, but I use those small sizes frequently in scrapbooking. With a price of $200, I just hope I get as many years from this printer as I did from my original one. My daughter has used the same model for years, and she had had no problems to date.

Careful of buying used.
First, it wasn't a PictureMate Snap. Second, it didn't work when I finally tried it this week. My fault for thinking it wasn't used and it would print pictures. I give 18"doll clothes, (most I make), shoes and accessories to charities. I take two pictures of each outfit, so this year that's 170 pictures. My old PcitureMate Snap is failing so I was desperate for another printer. I sent away for two and neither worked. I am not asking for my money back, my fault for believing in the goodness of people. .

A "Snap" to use
I chose the Snap as a gift for a sister who is challenged by new technology. Its ease-of-use should win her over, plus its compact size and portability. She'll never have to use the computer as it accepts most image cards directly. It should be a great printer for her scrap-booking if she learns to use the new digital camera! The printer's introductory print pak was past the expiration date, producing striped prints. Nozzle cleaning did nothing. The seller sent a new pak which produced a clear, crisp print with good color saturation and contrast. The ink cartrige installs as easily as a VCR tape, but seems wastefully large. (Lots of plastic.) All the inks are together, so you probably throw away good ink when one color runs out. You can't zoom in to inspect the sharpness of the image, so must check that in the camera to choose the ones you want to print. Cropping and some image enhancement is possible, but with the small screen it's hard to tell if it needs it. Print layout is limited to pre-established choices - a plus if you want simplicity, a minus if you want something other that what is offered. Recommended for portability (works on batteries too), simplicity and quality snapshots.

Nice But.....
This Picture Mate Snap that I bought after reviewing a lot of similar products does print nice photos. It was easy to set up and use out of the box, the LCD screen is adequate and some basic editing is also possible. It prints the photos surprisingly fast, I compared my prints to prints of the same photos I had done at Walgreens and I do think the Walgreens prints are slightly better. Having said that, I bought this to print out a few photos here and there and still plan to use a Walgreens or similar service for larger quantities. My beef with this personal photo lab is that you must buy the ink cartridge and paper together i.e. when you need more ink & paper, you can only buy Epson and nothing else. On top of that, to use it on the go as a true portable you must buy a proprietary battery from guess who? Yes Epson I accept that Epson uses quality inks which are supposed to resist fading for generations but I still do not like the fact that I have no choice in the matter. (Yes you can buy paper anywhere but that's not the point) The prints work out to about 30 cents each, not cheap but certainly convenient. I suggest you shop around before buying this for alternatives that do not tie you down with the ink, paper and pricey proprietary battery. It's worth the money but I have major reservations as noted. If anyone has info on alternatives supplies of ink and batteries, please post) You decide!

Wonderful product
It is so nice to be able to print your own photos in the convenience of your own home. This printer was rated best in a Money magazine survey so I purchased it. It is very easy to use and the pictures look very good. Anyone who purchases it should make sure to purchase the additional pack of paper and ink cartridge package because the printer does not come with much.

Printer was used and not new as advertised.
The Epson 240 printer received was used with a depleted ink cartridge left in the printer. It was returned at my shipping expense.
