Here's my background in case people care: Nutritionist and in the alternative health care field for about a decade. I've had months of BV/Yeast cropping up around my cycle. It either came up before, during, or right after my period. And when I didn't have an active infection, my vaginal tissue felt sensitive...weak. Inserting my diva cup was irritating, and masturbation (with a small dildo) was not enjoyable because of this light background irritation. I lost libido (I'm single, but I had no desire for sexual activity like normal). I took ONE CAPSULE (vaginal suppository--do not ingest orally) and after it had dissolved, I immediately felt better. My mojo was back. TMI: I masturbated twice a day for 3 days after starting (1 capsule a day)--I was also ovulating, so that may have played a part. Also, the boric acid really upgrades your ovulation fluids to abundant slimy juiciness--but the instructions say not to use around sex, so proceed with caution if you have a partner. I'm assuming the acidic nature of Boric Acid would irritate the sensitive skin of a human penis, or further irritate a healing infection in the woman, so be aware of that. After doing LOTS of reviews on Boric Acid, I landed on this one. Keep in mind, of course, there's always going to be a small fraction of people who react badly to this supplement, so the bad reviews are mostly those cases. I LIKE that the suppository capsule is made from gelatin---much easier to break down by the body than vegetable cellulose, in my opinion. I don't know why people have such stigma against gelatin; it's less-processed, closer to its natural form in nature, and is basically a supplement on its own (collagen). Most veggie capsules are made of HPMC (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose), which has also been known to cause issues in people, with prolonged exposure, and it's in literally all supplements taken orally nowadays! Gelatin is a different form of collagen, and is easier to breakdown in digestion, and in the vaginal tissue. You're basically putting a little bit of collagen in there, instead of a plastic-like substance highly processed from plants. In addition, the Boric Acid powder inside the capsule is high quality. It is a fine white powder, as it should be, and breaks down cleanly into solution with your body. Make sure you insert at night, so the solution can do a deep clean. I was so eager to use it when it arrived, I used one during the day. Just keep in mind you'll leak periodically, so prepare ahead of time for that. If you have vaginal dryness, you can put a few drops of water in with the capsule to help get it started (go into yoga Bridge pose, or similar, and use a dropper bottle to put a couple drops of water). You're going to leak stuff overnight, so just sleep on a towel or whatever you normally do for your menstrual cycle. You will notice a HUGE improvement in only one capsule. NO odor, NO itching, or discomfort--works very fast! ONE MORE THING TO NOTE: since my vaginal tissue was a little sensitive/irritated from this low-grade monthly infection, I felt a TINY bit of acidic pain...but truly, I otherwise wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't FOCUSING on it. Only felt on the first capsule. After one capsule, the tissue immediately became so much stronger and more resilient, and subsequent capsules weren't noticed! I hope this review helped others. When researching Boric Acid suppositories, keep in mind that most negative reviews are due to rarer cases of people who's biology really disagree with it. These are the cases where there is severe pain, inflammation, bleeding, etc...that's not normally what's supposed to happen, but it is listed as a side effect because it DOES occur in people.

After my hysterectomy, I went in at the five week mark for my post surgery follow up and mentioned that something felt off with my pH. They explained that this can be part of the healing process and that stitches can sometimes throw things off, but to be safe they tested me for BV. During that visit, one of the nurses shared that she personally deals with the same issue and uses these whenever intimacy throws her pH off, which made me feel more confident trying them once I was cleared by my doctor. I used them for a couple of days, and within about 12 hours I could already tell things were improving. My test results came back completely clear, and I haven’t had any issues since stopping. A few days was all it took for me. Highly recommend.

I’m a very clean person and the odor downstairs said otherwise, I was so confused as I shower often and I’m very thorough and clean. Nobody taught me about my pH balance and the underwear that I used was causing the chaos little did I know. I’m somebody that loves to wear thongs for the no-show appearance of when I wear pants and that can really create a funk as it is extremely tight in the vaginal area. I went years of embarrassment when it came to having sex and I did all kinds of research even bought those body washes that they advertise a lot for your private areas. Nothing worked until I came across this heaven on earth product. I use it every single night except when I am on my period. And I can comfortably wear my underwear of choice and I have zero odor down there. Purchasing second bottle now.

Love this stuff. A little BV going on? No problem. Shove one of these in before u go to bed. Next day, good to go. I don't think I've ever had to use this more than once or twice at a time. Love to have it on hand.
