Kalita 22201 Wave 155 (100P) Paper Filter, SIZE 155, White

I have been buying this filter for our Vietnam Coffee we made at home for a few years. It is my go to filter. The product is high quality. There is no residual taste from this filter. I highly recommend this filter.

With the 16% in 1 star reviews we were concerned so we bought both the white and brown filters. We found both to not have any problems. White are shipped in the plastic bag you see and the brown are shipped in a box. The brown just cost a lot more per filter. The filters are two to three times as thick as a grocery store 10-12 cup filter. The filters tend to sit up in the pour-over cup but with the first scoop of coffee, I just push it down with the scoop. We have the Kalita Wave series Wave Dripper 155 and the Hario V60 Buono Coffee Drip Kettle (bought elsewhere as the one here is from China not Japan). Insanely good and smoooooth coffee.

I like these filters because they're pre-formed and they do what they're supposed to do. My only gripe is that I wish they were "taller" so they would hold a lot more water. Other than that, they work just fine!

Amazon suggested these as a replacement for other Kalita filters I've been using for a long time. These were a different size than what I had been using and I didn't realize, so now I have 200 too small filters. There's probably nothing wrong with them if you want the small size though.

the brown ones supposedly retain their shape better, but i prefer these. i rinse the brown ones in near-boiling water, 50 at a time, multiple rinses. they are never odorless, but i don't taste them afterward. on the other hand, this rinsing weakens them to the point where the white ones (not rinsed) hold their shape better. shape retention isn't that important, but it's easier to pour into a filter that hasn't deformed. while we're here ... let me say that i don't think pulse-pour technique is necessary with 155 filters. pouring continuously is possible if you pour slowly enough. i use a heavy-duty, 400ml beaker. no drips, no need to pulse. the Hario VDD-02B decanter's silicone band fits _this_ quite well!

I've been buying these filters for my Kalita pour-over system for a few years now. The value and quality are great, and I keep coming back for more. My only critique is sometimes the last handful of filters can be somewhat flattened and shapeless, making it difficult to use as designed. But I'm not sure if there is any obvious way this can be fixed with the way they are sent, without cutting back on how many filters come in each package.

These filters will last for years, I remember using them making coffee in the old place and even better when someone made coffee for me. I forgot I had them, but found the filters and the holder in the back of a box. They are unchanged by the times. These changed how I viewed coffee in the morning, and made everything easier.
