NOT ALL THE SAME SELLERS!!!! It makes a difference. JSM is GREAT!
This is the 2ND machine I've purchased from JSM Computers out of Oklahoma. The first was purchased in 2016 and finally kicked the bucket this year. I specifically wanted a machine from them. YOU MUST PAY ATTENTION TO THE "SOLD BY." The description remains the same, but since I purchased this machine last week, the SOLD BY has changed THREE TIMES to companies with worse business ratings. I checked this because I was recommending the unit to some friends, and wanted to make sure they purchased from JSM. The pre-purchase response was EXCELLENT with same day and late business hours answers to questions. When I booted the machine and tested the USB ports, a few weren't accepting wired Keyboard and Mouse. I let JSM know and Mark responded very quickly. I was still testing, but I wanted him to be apprised of the situation. I do NOT waste time with the Amazon support. Their solution to any crisis is pack it up and send it back. Instead, I kept testing and after some WIFI and BLUETOOTH adapters were inserted, the supposedly dead USB ports worked, and with the wired mouse and keyboard. The PC came clean... you could not tell how old is is unless you know computers. No noticeable wear or damage. They send a WIFI adapter, and I plugged that in, hooked up the monitor I already had, and it popped up easy as toast. Needed a bluetooth adapter, and once that came, accepted it (TP Link 5.0) without any issues. Did some bluetooth searches for speakers (you will need better speakers) and it found the Oontz Angle 3 and Tozo6 earbuds, without any issues. It's also found my TV, Roku stick, and something I don't know what it is (should probably find out). The machine is fast. Programs pop up fast, downloads are fast, and when I type, it's immediately responsive. Can't say anything about gaming unless you want to talk Angry Birds friends or Solitaire, but for productivity, online browsing, running applications like Scrivener, Libreoffice... It's a great machine for under $200 (I purchased a 3 year protection plan just because which made it $200.) Now if I have issues with it, I'll update this review, so if you don't see any update, it's doing just great. Remember JSM computers sold me this machine and provided pre-purchase support, actually on another two machines, and I ended buying this one. Oh! and I was informed by Mark that the Microsoft Certification that came as a sticker on my last machine is now built into the computer memory/hard drive? and recognized when you go online. I notice a number of reviewers doubting authenticity of software because they didn't see a sticker. Just what I needed for school
I needed to put together a computer for school. I went online to build a computer from older parts, which I thought would be fairly inexpensive. It wasn't. I looked on Amazon and I was shocked to see these discount refurbished computers. For less than half the price, I'm able to get what I was going to build myself. I didn't want windows 11, so this build is perfect for me. It has all the features I need for school and is fast enough to keep up with all my basic needs. Shipping was a bit slow, but when the computer came it was well package and was set up on the day I ordered it (based on Windows time stamps of installs and updates), which explains the slower shipping. If you need a basic computer with no bells or whistles, this is for you. If you want a computer with bells and whistles, this company is still good to go with because they have so many reasonable price options. My only issue with this build is that the computer is built for the case. If I want to upgrade anything other than ram, I'll need to get a new case, but for the price, how can I complain! Pros: Clean computer Fresh install Works well for school

Delivered what they promised, reasonable deal.
This was a refurb, as stated, and was in reasonable shape for what it is. The system was clean of junkware, has a legit version of Win10 installed, and all the hardware they said was in it, was. The SSD was relatively low runtime, per diagnostics. The case had a few dings and scratches, but that's expected of a refurb. It came with a beefy power cable, a new-ish keyboard, and an optical mouse still in it's sealed bag. So why am I dinging it a star? Because they were kind of sloppy on the refurb side. Hardware: It has a new-to-it power supply. I know because it doesn't match the model, lacks the header to hold the front fan shroud in place, and wasn't screwed in, at all. Sliding about half an inch when pushed. Happily it was packed in 15 yards of bubble wrap, so no damage. Despite having replaced the supply (1/4 of the size of the case), the internals had a good amount of dust. How you leave that in, I have no idea, but they did. The wifi usb plugin was garbage, dropped connection about every half hour. It had no driver CD with it, just plugged into the back. After the third failure (and driver updates didn't fix it, RTL $2 module), I tossed it and put my own in, no issues since. Software: Windows was relatively slip-streamed and up to date, which is confusing, because the drivers were not. The bios, display drivers, network drivers, and more were old enough that clicking on them and saying "search for new drivers" saw most of them jump several versions. Hitting the manufacturers site, there were even newer drivers, and a bios update (from A19 to A27). I applied all of them, and it's running *much* smoother. Good price for the hardware. Shipped 4 days after the label was printed, the first "arrives by" day in the time window, just made it inside the delivery window. And working but in a bit of a rough state overall. So, I dinged a star. After typing all this, I'm almost ready to ding it two, but it's working, so... I'm in a good mood.

Great Refurbished Desktop Computer!
Just received my refurbished Dell desktop i7. It's really fast and lots of room on the harddrive for storage. Great value for the money, I don't game but it would be perfect for gaming. Came with a new mouse and Keyboard which was a nice addition. The sound quality was great and the performance after using my i3 for so long. This is almost like a super computer. Look for who rebuilt the computer JSM is the best.

Don't even think about it!
Let me count the ways by which I reach such a conclusion. It is noteworthy that others have had better luck with these people and this machine. In some cases (e.g. WIFI limitations and multiple screens) that may be caused by the fact that most people are happy with the thing as delivered. In others (e.g. loud and rattling fan and the hassle of an not-activated operating system), beware no matter how intense your demands of the computer.. (i) The machine was shipped with Windows 10 as promised but in a version or copy that had not been activated (read not legal in the minds of the gods at Microsoft). The cure for such things is to find what is called a product key and to furnish that to Microsoft at which time, if one holds his or her mouth correctly and asks nicely, Microsoft will validate Windows for them. When USTecno (the refurbisher) people were asked about the problem, one could sense some head scratching on the other end. They then said that the product key was on a sticker on the machine but that one had to rub it (this is not a joke) to expose it. Don’t rub it too hard or you will destroy it (no this is not a joke either). I did rub it and was able to interpret the key and soive the problem after the expenditure of perhaps one-and-a-half hours of discovering that the problem existed (through some of my software being sufficiently smart to know that it was about to join a questionable enterprise) and what to do about it (learn how to get the product key so that I could convey it to the gods of Redmond). It also must be said that the attitude of the people at USTecno was decidedly arrogant and rude as though it was my problem that I had obtained a machine with an invalid version of Windows. Ultimately they would be correct in that assertion. It was my problem and a big one! Their attitude led me to resolve both to write this review and to never deal with them again or maybe with any other Amazon refurbisher. (ii) When I tried to connect the computer to a wired connection (RJ-45) it didn’t work. I never solved this problem (read on and know that I gave up) but I expect that the issue is the fact that the old network adapter ran well on Windows 7 and will not run on Windows 10 (know that this core machine is that old and see below). At least this problem may not go back to the halcyon days of XP as described below! And you ask yourself how could a company ignore such a problem--and I would profess not to know short of some unintelligible comment about their competence. A possible cure is to buy a pci card video adapter, install it and hope that it works to recognize multiple monitors. Be ready to spend a couple hundred dollars and several hours of your time and then not to be certain about the Windows 7/10 problem and the form factor of the card until the big moment when you fire it up and learn the truth. (iii) A corollary to the above is that the machine is apparently delivered with a dongle WIFI connector. Mine would only detect my 2.4 network and didn't recognize the 5.0 that I wanted to use (my 2.4 is loaded and the wired connection did not work as previously stated). The reason for this failure is likely either an operating system issue (this machine was originally delivered when new with Windows 7) or a process of simply buying the least expensive thing that would facilitate a WIFI claim and cover over the non-functional wired connector described above. (iv) When the machine was first fired up, I immediately noticed that one or both of the fans (It seems that the model likely has fans in the power supply and over the CPU) was/were very loud with an attendant rattling noise. If you have ever kept an old computer for a while, you will be familiar with the sound and maybe the results. Again one wonders if the people who rebuilt the system ever turned it on. The cure in this case in part is to buy a $135 power supply (price from Amazon) and install it yourself. If that doesn’t sound difficult, it becomes three times more so in a small form factor machine. That does not address the potential fan over the CPU. In any case the loss of a fan in a power supply is usually enough to produce toast. Another alternative is of course to wait until it dies and run the risk of losing the computer and everything on it while maybe smoking up your office or home. (v) When I tried to connect two monitors to the system, it would not recognize and display on the second monitor. It turns out that the driver in this case is very old and was originally designed for Windows XP sometime in the distant past (with apologies to those of you who may not be sufficiently old to remember such things). The problem of the video adapter not working with multiple displays is well-known and discoverable with a bit of web research except perhaps for the people who rebuilt this machine. The cure in this case is to find the right driver in the anals of intel, download it and install it. Good luck with that if you’re not a technical guru with time on your hands. (vi) And finally the ultimate insult. Amazon policy with this particular rebuilder, and maybe all of them, is to invoke a process which consumes one-and-a-half to two weeks before one gets money back or replacement product. If you are accustomed to Amazon’s typical accommodating process, don’t be misled. This is anything but sensible or accommodating. Amazon in this case works with these people to deliver a piece of junk and then tries to make it difficult for the customer to rectify the problem. And this ain't a widget which is obviously bad "out of the box". It takes work and several hours to learn about all these problems. And one strongly suspects that further persistence would only lead to more unpleasant discoveries. Like I said: "Don't even think about it!".

Good value
This PC was easy to set up and it got my files from the Cloud. I remember when you had a "Wizard" that helped transfer files from one to the next. I also got my sounds back. Don't know how that happened but I appreciate it. Good PC for the money. Windows 11 is not to hard to figure out after having Windows 10 for many years.

Great value
I did my homework before buying this computer. I expected a slightly better computer for less than $300; I thought it might be too good to be true, but I received what I expected, a Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz CPU, 16GB RAM, a 1TB SSD, and Windows 10 Pro. These are modest specs but at $275, they are a great value for a computer that works fine for email, web, light computation, homework, etc. The benchmark on this CPU is 30% faster than the refurbished Dell I bought 2.5 years ago for $400. I was particularly skeptical that the 1TB SSD was new, but the drive shows one hour of total runtime (so, it's new). LIKES: + As advertised (Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz CPU, 16GB RAM, a 1TB SSD, and Windows 10 Pro). + Clean. + Works. Out of the box, Windows runs well. DISLIKES: Although they didn't bother me, these things might bother you: + Meh keyboard. This cheap keyboard is not great. + Broken mouse. The mouse looked second hand, was obviously broken, and had parts rolling around inside. + Short power cord. I doubt the cord they supplied is even 36 inches long. On the desk I'm using, it barely touches the ground. But if you have a standard desktop power cord from your last desktop computer, they're interchangeable. + I was looking forward to a silent machine, but the fan is a noticeable in a quiet room.

Great value, but PLEASE read this review from an IT expert.
TLDR; The value for what it is, is fantastic. HOWEVER ! Do not buy this computer unless you or someone you personally know can physically work on this should there be issues out the box. Mine works and works well, after having to fix a few minor issues. The detailed description: I will say, out the gate, as long as the PC is capable of running with very little or no tweaking needed, the value is fantastic. If you need a new tower and your budget is low, this is a very good option. The external appearance of the case is like new. Of course, some people have had other experiences, fortunately mine was undamaged. The internals are where I had problems. Luckily, I was able to perform the work myself having IT knowledge. Others have stated that the SSD included was not the size advertised. The 1TB advertised on this one is, in fact, 1TB. They seemingly used a SSD from an HP, but it still functions like any other internal SSD should. Now, with my specific purchase, out of the box, the processor fan didn't function. I was able to pull it apart, clean and apply a small amount of machine oil and after reinstalling, it worked. I will also mention the fan was oriented incorrectly and had a considerable amount of dust buildup already out the box as well. I have to say that, in my opinion, the buildup had to have been from previous use, which tells me that when this company refurbishes these machines, after resolving the issue, they do not disassemble and clean them (unless they are visibly needing it). After reinstalling the newly cleaned fan, it began working well and without noise. All other components of the PC were in working operation as well. The system BIOS was easily navigated while transferring files from an old hard disk drive to the new solid state drive. The board contains an extra SATA connection, which is nice, as well as PCIe connections (which will be used for a new graphics card in the near future). My one complaint, which is subjective as the value should make it obvious, is that the PC has integrated graphics, which can be a bummer for those of you trying to cheap out on a PC for gaming or crypto mining. Other than that, this is and will be a good machine for the intended use i purchased it for.
