After reading the critical reviews about it looking fake and feeling flimsy, I bought it anyway because it was low priced and shipped free; gotta love Amazon Prime. That first time, holding it after removing it from the packaging, placing thumb to striker, slowly pressing down... ZZZING!!! Must have tossed it five feet!! As for looking fake? To me it appears just another cheap disposable lighter trying to look fancy and failing. Perfect! As for being flimsy, well, maybe repeatedly dropping it on hardwood or marble floors wont be very good for it, duh.

This little "Trick ZAP Lighter was nothing more than a waste of my time and money. First off it came disassembled in a small package and on first inspection realized that the tiny batteries were so old that something oozed out of one and I just decided it wasn't worth it and tossed it all in the trash

Great gag gift

Broke in my pocket after a couple days. But lasted long enough to tech my roommate a lesson.

This is a a gag that can really get you in trouble,when someone suffering from an acute nicotine fit,is seeking an immediate puff of their unlit cig,and they anxiously attempt to light-up,only to receive a hefty JOLT on their thumb!! Trust me,they will NOT see the humor in this gag!! First time I used this gag on someone in 2002,I almost found myself in an impromptu fracas!! Dude was like:Now THAT (stuff)wasn't funny man!! I want to SMOKE,not play no(doggone)GAMES!! Why are you smiling?!? You think this (stuff)is FUNNY huh?!? Needless to say;use this on family and friends,not people on the street who walk-up and ask you for a lighter!! Nevertheless this gag is a RIOT,as no one expects to experience LITERAL shock-therapy to curb their smoking addiction!!! For the nonsmokers in my life,I carry with me a cupcake with a candle stuck in it,and ask them to light my birthday-cupcake candle for me!! Well hey nobody ever noted me for my maturity!! Keep your camera-phone handy,because the look of astonishment,on a victims face is PRICELESS after they flick THIS Bic!!

They have a lot more shock then the shock pen, but they are also hit or miss on consistency. I've bought two of these at separate times, and one shocked more than the other. Also, the 2nd one I had actually stopped working after about 25 or so shocks, because it seemed like the circuit was no longer completed internally. I'm sure I can fix it if I put my mind to it, but I've already got my money's worth out of it. It made April Fools day pretty fun at the office. When else can you shock your bosses boss and get away with it.... :)

The battery is definitely not replaceable in this, and it is obviously of very cheap quality. You'll have to have a story ready to get this prank to work on most people, and the shock isn't very strong. You get what you pay for.

I tried it on myself and was surprised that it actually gives you a pretty good jolt. It is not made of plastic and feels like a lighter of good quality (mostly due to the metal body necessary to give the electric shock). PS: I gave this to my friend, who is trying to stop smoking. I told him to use this every time before he smokes a cigarette. I hope this will help a little with preventing him to want to smoke. Of course I gave it to him without telling him what it was... Now he certainly is happy to lend it to anyone who wants to light a cigarette^^

Worked great as a gag gift. Had a little more zip to it compared to the pens.
