Very Handy Cabinets - Difficult Size To Find. Quite Happy With Them!
Hi everybody. Am perplexed by some of the negative reviews and comments I am seeing here about this cabinet. We liked it so much, that we ordered a second one and placed them side by side. This size is very difficult, if not impossible to find! We needed a cabinet to organize some things we had stored in our entry way, such as bags of pet food, extra bottles of water, soda, seltzer, etc. that were in plain sight and looked just way too cluttered. The entry is not a large area at all and at 12.5 " deep, this was the ideal depth for us, as it contains all that we wanted to store in it with ease, and does not jut out too far, which would block the entry window, and also make exiting and entering more awkward. For this reason, the shorter height was also ideal for our purposes, as anything taller would simply "take over" the entry with respect to size. It's also nice to be able to neatly store a few things on top of it and have them easily within reach. It is easily sturdy enough for our purposes, and again, I am simply not understanding why people are complaining about this, as ours seems to be more than sufficiently sturdy to accommodate our needs. As for assembly, this really was not the nightmare which some reviewers are describing at all. Simply followed the directions, assembled the cabinet face down, (on the doors), and stood it up when finished. The only tools required were a hammer and a Phillps' screwdriver, NOT a power drill or power screwdriver as these are constructed out of particle board and that would be overkill and strip the screws! That simple. Regarding the gaps that some are describing, ours may have a VERY slight gap between the doors, but nothing worthy of noting or anything to complain about. Speaking of the doors, I would like to add that since, as mentioned, we were trying to work with a very small space, the double doors were a MUCH better option for us as opposed to the single door cabinets. Just another thing to bear in mind. We were concerned that these would take a beating during shipping and arrive in questionable shape, but this concern was unwarranted, since they arrived in great condition. All in all, we are very, very happy with these cabinets. No complaints at all.

Unhinged and a Screw Loose
I wish this Pantry came already assembled or with a genie that could assemble it. I knew this guy was going to be an issue when it showed up on a rainy day and the delivery guy announced it was too big for a bag and that it was very heavy. After getting on my hands and knees to slide it across my living room, I laid the box in the living room floor.. almost its final resting place. The box itself was an endeavor to strip open. After I mangled the box like a hungry tiger I was able to remove the pieces.. cheap plywood, a bag of screws, a large piece of cardboard and instructions that may as well been in every language but English (I’m thinking learning Chinese would have been an easier task than putting this thing together)I started the assembly process. The product description states “hassle free assembly”.. I’m not sure what their definition of hassle is but if wrestling with an angry alligator for four hours is on the list it well surpasses that. I found the instructions difficult since you start putting the thing together backwards so visualizing and trusting the process were new skills I acquired. About halfway through assembly I carefully contemplated just using this for firewood. As I looked at the lump of wood mocking me, with my dinning room looking like the remaining parts of a lumber junkyard I continued my puzzle journey.. I discovered I could get a refund by taking my item to a ups store.. which at this point I would need to hire someone to transport it or possibly take it piece by piece to the ups store. I finally was almost completely done with the assembly when I realized the door was put on backwards.. like my brain at this point. I did finally complete the assembly in 4 hours!! The best part it hasn’t collapsed on me yet! I have three masters degrees but I think a doctorate in engineering may have been more suitable for this task. Overall good little pantry, cheaply made but looks good for the price.

Extremely disappointed
This arrived yesterday and I put it together this morning. I could kick myself for not wiping down each piece and inspecting it before putting it together. The way it goes together requires you to put the doors on the floor and build it up from there, which is different from any other I've ever built. As a result, there were some things I didn't even notice until I put it together. I stood it up and started wiping it down with a dust cloth, but many of the spots I thought were dust and packaging turned out to be scratches, some of them big, all over the front doors. It was built on a special wool covering that I use when building furniture just to make sure I don't scratch anything, so I know it wasn't me. Then when I wiped down one of the sides, close to the bottom I noticed a huge scratch going all the way across. When I got close to it I realized it was more than just a scratch; it was a crack in the particle board all the way across it!! I never even saw it. That was the side that attached to the doors first and the way it was facing, I wasn't looking at that side. So now I have this thing put together that not only looks bad, but is structurally unsound. I tried clicking on the link they have to contact ClosetMaid if we have any issue, but each time I've tried, I get the message that it can't be found. I'm not even sure what to do at this point. The box was thrown out this morning and it is put together, so how can I even return it to Amazon? I will try to add pics or video to this review. UPDATE: Amazon Customer Service made it right for me.

Sure wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. At 69.99 this cabinet would be over-priced. With tax I paid $455.54 for cheap, pressed wood, garbage hinges and ugly plastic handles. I feel as though I have been cheated. Never again! I'll be looking up the return policy.

UPDATE: company was willing to reimburse me at 15%..that really doesnt cover the damaged For some reason I did not recieve notification this product was being delivered. Once I opened the box I noticed the pieces were damages. Although it was easy to assemble and instructions were clear, it is not worth the $$$. Not to mention that it is damaged in a few spots.
