Fixed Mount Closet Organizer Kit

I have 3 of these in my house now and I have progressively gotten better at installing them. It took me approx 3 hours for the first and the last one took about 1.25 hours in more or less similar configurations in my closets. The hardest part is lining up the rack wall hooks at the right height to be level with the screw hole of the supporting front rod. The wall plug is off-center and there is no marking to show where the center point is so that your shelves don't end up sliding forward or backward unevenly. It takes some experimenting to get this right. I highly recommend taking some time to figure this out as you don't want to make too many unwanted holes in your walls!! Also, recommend taking some time to figure out how you want the shelves to be laid out in the space you have as you may end up with too tight or too high spacing. Any mistakes, and you will end up making more holes in your walls :) I found it useful to lay out your shelving on the floor to get an idea what it could look like in the closet before drilling holes to install the wall plugs. It is also useful to have a 2nd person to assist you during installation. Once installed, the entire assembly feels very stable and strong. My 2 teenage kids are giving it the rough treatment and it is holding up pretty good!

Purchased this kit since the price was reasonable and we liked that it had rods for hanging clothes. While designed for 5 to 8 foot closets, I installed this into our 4ft wide closet without issues. Install was really easy, and the directions are well written and easy to understand. I chose not to mark the walls to the extent in the instructions because I had just painted the inside of the closet, but think things through or use tape instead to mark your lines and it'll be easy. Our 4' setup allows us two 2' shelves + 1' shelf for longer items along with five 1' shelves for sweaters, jeans or baskets, etc. Tools used: hacksaw, drill, level, hammer, philips screwdriver and two drill bits.

I was skeptical about purchasing something like this online, but I love Amazon, so why not? This is amazing! We have a 6 ft closet that had one solid bar across. Our clothes were so smushed in it, making them wrinkled every time you wanted to wear something. We decided to purchase this Closet Maid organizer in hopes of creating more space and I am VERY pleased!! For $60 this was a great way to maximize the space we have for what we need. The only reason I don’t give it a higher rating is because the directions are a little choppy. It did take a while to put together (measuring the closet, leveling each shelf, cutting down any wiring, etc). Seems very sturdy. We did order additional rack hooks to make sure that the longer racks are supported, but they were only $6 additional. I would recommend if you need to make the most of the closet you have.

I bought this for our nursery closet! It has great space saving capabilities! If you know what you are doing you can even get extra parts to add more shelves or hanging rods. I really am happy with how it turned out! I am able to hang all jammies and organize blankets/sheets and toys amongst the shelves. I did have to cut down the hanging bars because our closet is shorter but it worked out great! This was by far the best priced closet set up that allowed us to put it up easy and make work for us!

Pros: This closet is strong and sturdy, neat looking and unobtrusive and there is a flexibility in design that makes it a great way to save money on oddly sized closets without having something specially made. That being said, you will definitely have to work for it. Cons- If you are building the exact 8 ft closet this is a little complicated but if you are handy and have a couple hours you will be fine. Anything smaller will require you to redo the math and measurements for where to hang the shelves and becomes much more complicated (beware of fractions! Make sure that you wont have a wire in the way of your hook). You will also have to cut the shelves to fit your new measurements. The instructions are not always clear and tend to leave parts out. My husband and I are very handy and I ignored the other reviews having faith in our abilities. We ordered two of these and had to redo half of the first one due first to unclear instructions and then due to issues with transferring the measurements. Be prepared to plaster the holes because I doubt anyone can build this without messing up somewhere. To sum up this will save you a hundred dollars or so, and the finished product is wonderful. But be prepared for frustration, calculations and having to go back and redo everything you just did to get it right.

The product is great. The setup was a challenge. The instructions included where more for what if situations and not actual instructions on how to install. Thank god for YouTube. We were able to find a detailed video on the exact product. That made it so much easier .

I think most are familiar with these systems now as they are pretty basic fair for simple closets. We have a similar one in one bedroom and need to get one for another. This system was WAY less than at the big box store. Granted it didn't have the shoe rack and maybe one or two minor other things but it suited our needs just fine. Installation was relatively straight forward especially after having done it before. The price is the real winner here!
