Q: Can you use this phone for voip intercom between several offices?

There are a few ways to implement this. (1) The simplest is to use sub-accounts with your SIP service provider. Callcentric, for example, supports 21 sub-accounts with extension numbers 100 to 120, so you register one phone with x100 another with x101, etc. and dial 3-digit extensions to make calls without hitting the PSTN or having any per-minute charges. Voip.ms can also do this. (2) For larger deployments you may want to consider using a PC running Asterix/Freeswitch or a PBX appliance to provide your own SIP service. (3) If you don't want to mess with a SIP provider and a self-hosted PBX is overkill, this device, like most Grandstream products, supports "direct IP call" where you dial the network IP address instead of a phone number. With this method you don't even need an internet connection if the phones are on the same subnet, so you can, for example, stick a phone in the back warehouse and call it from the front office.
