Palram Rion Automatic Louver Opener

I was pleasantly surprised the day after I installed this louver opener. It was a warm, fall day, but I didn't think it was getting hot in the greenhouse and certainly not hot enough to activate the opener. However, with the sun, the temps were rising into the upper 70's, lower 80's. I was happy to see the louver windows open and thereby drawing cooler air from the ground up through the open window at the top. I know my plants will thank me later this summer for purchasing it!

NOTE_ This review is for an installation on a Palram - Canopia Glory Greenhouse. A bit difficult to install, required two people at one point to attach spring return mechanism to greenhouse louver window frame. After installation I was not satisfied with the amount of opening on hot days. I traced the problem to the hardware supplied to attach the actuating lever to the window frame (see picture). The bolt that came with the kit was smaller in diameter than the original and therefore loose in the window frame hole. I drilled out the actuator lever hole to match the louver frame and used a larger bolt. Works better now.

Does what it claims, attached to the louver on a Palram Mykos greenhouse. Appears to open at about 65 degrees or so, I like that it opens gradually. Have had it in use about three months now (October - January in north Texas) and have no complaints so far. Haven't been able to test it in hot weather just yet, so performance on a typical summer day is unknown right now. Will post future experience after a full season.

This item is not a Rion automatic louvre opener it is a Liberty automatic opener. The picture does not match the product I received. I was told the Rion would fit on the Palram louvre window so I purchased it. I was able to get it to mount on the side window louvre, but had to make bracket to go between opener and side louvre. I now need to test it to see if it will open the louvre when it gets hot. The springs are pretty heavy duty I hope the cylinder has enough pressure to open it.

Broke right after delivery. Palram customer support is non-existent, non-responsive, garbage. Plastic part broke on install.

It works as planned. Open the louver door between 60 and 70°.

Requires adaption to the Rion Greenhouse, but once installed works fine. Thought I could maintain watch and adjust manually. You can't. This thing is on the job all the time. 52 degrees outside and 100 degrees inside in full sun. Who knew. Would buy again knowing what I know now.

Handy little product. Makes the venting process as easy as can be. If I add any more vents I will add another one of these as well.
